Saturday, May 14, a Loano, in the outdoor Olympic-size pool at the Sports Hall, the XXII edizione del Meeting Internazionale di Nuoto Città di Loano.
The sports event, organized by the Società Doria Nuoto Loano with contributions from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and the sponsorship of FIN and CONI, vedrà ai blocchi di partenza, alcuni tra i più forti giovani atleti a livello nazionale e internazionale delle categorie Rookies A (males years 2003 and 2004, females 2004 and 2005), Guys (males years 2000, 2001 and 2002, females 2002 and 2003) and Absolute (males over 1999, females over 2001), who will compete in the distances of the 50, 100, 200 e 400.
Numerose le presenze in vasca e in aumento rispetto all’edizione passata. Le società iscritte sono 18, for a total of 437 athletes and 1479 race attendance.
Tra le società liguri spiccano il Chiavari Swimming (con 6 atleti), l’Idea Sport SSD (with 28 athletes), the Nuotatori Genovesi SSD (with as many as 38 athletes), the Swimming Club Liguria (15 athletes) and the Rari Nantes Imperia (24 athletes), in addition, of course, to the hosts of the Doria Swimming Loano, con 22 atleti e 88 presenze gara, ultima società rimasta della provincia di Savona a mantenere tutte le categorie di atleti, dopo che l’Amatori Nuoto è confluita nell’Andrea Doria con i “categoria” e l’Idea Nuoto su Genova con gli esordienti.
Tra le squadre delle regioni vicine a spiccare è il Turin Swimming Center, fedele partecipante alla manifestazione, con una compagine di 88 partecipanti. Tra i suoi atleti di punta quest’anno sfilerà in acqua Alessandro Miressi, categoria juniores 1998, vice-Campione Europeo Juniores in carica nel 100 stile libero ai Giochi Europei di Baku nel 2015, finalista assoluto ai primaverili di Riccione nei 100 stile libero e soprattutto vincitore nei Criteria Giovanili di Riccione di ben 5 ori (100-200 stile libero 4×100 misti, 4×100 stile libero, 4×200 stile libero), 1 argento (50 stile libero) e 3 bronzi (50 e 200 farfallo, 100 dorso) che gli sono valsi la qualificazione per il prossimi Campionati Europei Juniores.
Among the winners of Italian titles category also stand out Matthew Senor, oro nei 200 stile libero, 4×100 misti e 4×100 e 4×200 stile libero, 2 argenti nei 100 e 400 stile libero, Stefano Saladini (also two bronze medals for him in the 100 and 200 breaststroke) and Edorardo Pasta e Alessandro Scarfò, d’oro nelle staffette 4×100 e 4×200 stile libero e 4×100 mista.
Among women, Roberta Calò, winner of the cadet 50 breaststroke, and, along with teammates Rebecca De Rosa, Alice Cecchetto e Good morning Francesca della staffetta 4×100 mista.
For the hosts of the Doria Swimming Loano there are to report Lucretia Sole e Victoria Vignolo, who participated in the Riccione Criteria with good placings and significant improvements, Nicolò Busso, Giada Vitale and Mariam Berro reached the podium in the winter category championships.

Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. the following competitions will be held: 50 Boys' and Girls' Absolute Backstroke, 50 Boys' and Girls' Freestyle; 100 Boys' and Girls' Rookie A Butterfly -Men's and Girls' Absolute; 200 Boys' and Girls' Rookie A Backstroke -Men's and Girls' Absolute; 100 Boys' and Girls' Rookie A Breaststroke -Men's and Girls' Absolute; 200 Boys' and Girls' Rookie A Breaststroke -Men's and Girls' Absolute; 400 Boys' and Girls' Absolute.
Saturday afternoon starting at 3 p.m. are scheduled: the 50 Men's and Women's Absolute 50 Butterfly, 50 Breaststroke Boys- Men's and Women's Absolute; 200 Mixed Beginners A- Boys- Men's and Women's Absolute; the 100 Backstroke Beginners A- Boys- Men's and Women's Absolute; the 100 Breaststroke Beginners A- Boys- Boys- Boys and Girls Absolute; the 200 Butterfly Beginners A- Boys- Boys- Boys and Girls Absolute; the 200 Style Beginners A- Boys- Boys- Boys and Girls Absolute to close the event with the 400 Mixed Men and Girls Absolute.
