Sunday, December 13, a Loano, the new headquarters of the Pro Loco Loano, within the West Quay of the Marina of Loano (Nazario Sauro Street).

They will attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony, scheduled at 4 p.m., the Mayor of Loano Luigi Pignocca, The Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports Remo Zaccaria and Loano's La Marina territory relations manager, Dr. Renato Gozzini.

“The inauguration of the new headquarters of Pro Loco Loano, - says Mayor Luigi Pignocca -represents an important step in the reorganization of our city's tourist information system. Loano will thus have another reference point for tourist information, with a service oriented especially to the world of boaters. It is with this in mind that Loano Marina has made available to the Lonese Pro Loco a prestigious location next to its offices.’

“Following the closure of the IAT offices in charge of the Province of Savona," says Tourism Councillor Remo Zaccaria - the Municipal Administration of Loano has deliberated the acquisition of the service, taking charge of the provincial staff unit in mobility, as provided by the regional norm. To expand the service, it also involved with a memorandum of understanding the Loano economic categories in particular the Hoteliers Association, the Association of Marine Baths Union Loano and Confcommercio ASCOM Loano. The Loano Pro Loco's new information point further enriches the information network for tourists, creating a closer link between boaters and the services offered by the city.

“I thank the city administration for the support it always gives us," says Pro Loco President Maria Giuliana Amelotti - and the Loano Marina, its Administrator and directors, which, thanks to the new policy of openness to Loano entrepreneurs, allows us to have a prestigious location in the port, thus recognizing the role played over the years by Pro Loco Loano. Finally, I thank all the members and directors of our association for always supporting all initiatives, even the most complex ones.”

Pro Loco Loano since its 2004 founding year has brought together some of Lovran's leading entrepreneurs working in tourism and commerce, as well as cultural enthusiasts and health professionals, among others.

The goal of Pro Loco Loano is to promote tourism, through the enhancement of local culture, the area and through the organization of events.

Since its inception, it has organized a number of regional and national UNPLI (Unione Nazionale Pro Loco d'Italia) conferences. Many are the tourist entertainment events that the association curates: from the dog show “Best in Show” to events to promote the excellence of local products, from conferences on marine biodiversity, in collaboration with the Genoa Aquarium, to historical re-enactments with the contribution of experts in the field.

The President of the Pro Loco Loano Maria Giuliana Amelotti is a Regional Councilor of UNPLI and a delegate for the Third Sector FORUM in the Liguria Region. In addition, she is a member of the Regional Coordinating Committee on Tourism with duties of participation in the formation of regional tourism planning, and a member of the Regional Council on Tourism.
