“The opening of the center," explains Councillor Luca Lettieri - as well as the birth of the social promotion association YEPP Loano, are part of the “mature” phase of YEPP local group planning. This phase provides, after the period of acquiring skills on YEPP methodology, the achievement of autonomy of the local group. The association will be open to all youth in the area and will continue to promote the active participation of youth in the design and implementation of activities that meet the needs of their peers. We are very satisfied with the path we have taken and the one we are about to start. Young people have become active and have taken responsibility for bringing “change” to the city, influencing youth policies at multiple levels. I think it was important to give them confidence, because they were able to turn every stimulus into opportunities for other young people.”

The idea of the youth gathering center was born from the request of young people to have a place where they could meet in their free time. Redevelopment work on the premises in the Kursaal Palace (formerly Circolo Italo Calvino), supported by a grant from the Region of Liguria, made it possible to develop a project from those spaces.

YEPP Loano starting with requests from young people for cultural stimulation, gathering spaces/times and training opportunities, developed the idea of a youth center that would be the place to carry out the activities of YEPP Arts Workshop.

The center “The Invisible Cities.” Will offer equipped spaces. At the disposal of local youth will be: two rehearsal rooms, a concert hall and a media room where web radio and video activities can be carried out. The spaces will also be used as a gathering place where people can study or meet friends.

Starting from mid October, in the center will take place workshops in video, photography, screen printing and the “Urban Glass Over” music workshop” to learn to play with instruments made from reclaimed materials.
