Friday, September 11, a Loano,will kick off the festivities, sponsored by the Brotherhood of the White Disciples of St. John the Baptist under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, for the religious anniversary of the Most Holy Name of Mary.
At 9:40 p.m., in fortress square, the concert of the’S.M. Immaculata Music Association of Loano. The band's repertoire of Loano will range from the operatic, to the symphonic and modern genres.
Saturday, September 12, the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary will be celebrated in the’Oratory of the Whites. At 20.30 Solemn Vespers will be held followed by the Procession through the city streets. On the occasion of the religious festival, the statue of Our Lady adorned with flowers and lamps will be carried in procession by the Brotherhood of Whites, along with the large processional Crucifixes, rich in decorative ornaments.
After walking the streets outside and inside the walls of Loano, the religious procession will stop in fortress square, where the blessing ceremony will take place.
Participating in the procession will be the’St. Mary Immaculate Music Association and numerous Ligurian Confraternities with their artistic Crucifixes.
