Sunday, August 9, will continue to Loano the dance review, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and organized by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini.
In the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, to the 9:30 pm, the Ballet Company of Genoa GDS DanceCompanyItaly will present “MUSICALinSide vs MUSICALinSide - Cultural Encounter in the musical from broadway to Hollywood”.
The show with choreography by Cyrus Venosa is a journey through the world of Musicals that, from theater stages and the silver screen, have offered numerous tests of comparisons between American, Anglo-Saxon, Hispanic, and Italian cultures.
Scenes from some unforgettable masterpieces of musicals will be revived on stage. Frameworks danced by “An American in Paris.”, a 1951 musical film directed by Vincente Minnelli, which takes its title from George Ghershwing's symphonic poem contained in the film's music, along with Gershwin's own “Concerto in F Major.” From “West Side Story” musical written by Jerome Robbins with music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, which premiered in 1957 at the Winter Garden Theaer in Brodway, New York. And then again by Hair, the musical written by James Raso and Gerome Ragni with music by Galt Mac Dermont, and by Nine, a tribute to Federico Fellini written by Mario Fratti with music by Arthur L. Kopit.
Cyrus Venosa will be at Loano from the morning and will hold a modern-contemporary dance internship from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is €15.00 per person.
