Friday, August 7, a Loano, in the’Oratory of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary (Turchini),will take place, at 21.15, the concert of the Spanish musician Carme Godall Castell.

The evening, sponsored by the’Department of Tourism and Culture of the City of Loano  and organized by the Brotherhood Of the Turchin Hoods, fits into the program of the 17th International Organ Festival, organized by the’Rapallo Music Association.

Carme Godall Castell will play the “Nicomede Agati” organ (1850) performing a wide repertoire of sacred music ranging from the 16th century to the late 18th century.

The organist will perform pieces by F. Antonio Martín y Coll (1671-1734) , Antonio de Cabezón (1510-1566), Joan Baptista Cabanilles (1644-1712), Pablo Bruna (1611-1679), Vicent Rodríguez Monllor (1690-1760) , John Stanley (1712-1786), Anonymous Pistoiese (18th cent.), Carles Baguer (1768-1808).

Carme Godall Castell é was born in Barcelona (Spain) where she studied piano at the Conservatorio Superior Municipal de Música, with Maria Drets, Paula Torróntegui and Antoni Besses. She then continued her organ studies at the same conservatory and obtained the superior degree in organ under the direction of Montserrat Torrent (1998) and later the Superior títude of Professor d'Orgue at the Conservatorio Superior Municipal de Música de Barcelona (2000).

He participated in postgraduate courses in Spain (in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands), and in Switzerland with professors Montserrat Torrent (Música Ibérica), Michael Radulescu (the work of J.S.Bach), Andreas Arand (Romantic Music), Jan Willem Jansen (Flemish Music), Hans Helsten (Nordic Music) and Guido Iotti (Italian Music). He took a Postgrade course for graduate students with Montserrat Torrent at the Department of Musicology of the “Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas” in Barcelona.
She has given concerts in Spain, Italy and France, both as soloist and as acompanist for various instrumental and vocal groups.
He has recorded live concerts for local radio stations and Radio Nacional de España-4. He is organist on major liturgical feasts in the Parish Church of Sant Feliu de Cabrera de Mar (Barcelona).
She collaborates as organ teacher in the Music School of Cabrera de Mar and as director of the Cor Parroquial. She studied singing with R. Garrell (JJMM Award of Spain) and choral conducting with M. Cabero (St. George's Cross Award). She also holds a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona and has leadership responsibilities in several Catalan organ associations and music pedagogy institutions.
