Saturday, June 20, a Loano,will get into the swing of summer events with a new edition of White night, the long entertainment marathon, which will keep everyone up late into the night with live music and tastings.
The party to greet the beginning of summer, sponsored by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and organized by the’ASCOM Loano, will be enlivened by already establishedacover bands and young ensembles, which will play in the streets, squares and on the waterfront.
As in the past, the city's businesses and venues will be a mainstay of the initiative with an extraordinary opening of businesses and original tasting stations. Throughout the center and on the waterfront, more than twenty music stations.
The highlight of the evening will be the concert in Italy Square, organized by the I.So THeatre. This year in the big square in the heart of the city will take center stage Clare, who along with his band will stop at Loano with his “Extraordinary tour 2015”. On the tour, produced by Live Nation, Clare will present live his latest record work “An Extraordinary Sunny Day” (Sony Music) in a surprising and intense show that will feature songs from the new record such as “A sunny day”, his most beloved songs, which have become real hits such as “Two breaths” or the highly acclaimed “Stardust”, and unmissable covers of great international music revisited in the unique style of Clare.
The season of events will continue throughout the summer in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena with the program curated by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini.
Dance, cabaret, cinema, children's theater and music will be the focus of the program, which will feature well-known guests Nomadi, Ale and Franz,Anna Mazzamauro, Dario Baldan Bembo, Elisabetta Viviani, I ricchi e Poveri,Compagnia Balletto Classico Liliana Cosi-Marinel Stefanescue from Sanremo youth Chantyl.
La review “Music and Song Theater” will soundtrack the summer at the Prince's Garden. The July 4 the Alternating, led by guitarist Nando Rizzo, will present the show “The great movie soundtracks.”, a musical journey, sung and narrated, that will traverse the masterpieces of cinema. Then, the curtain will rise again on one of the most representative bands of 1960s Italian music, the Nomads (July 11). The group, which celebrated its 50-year career in 2013, will treat the Lovran audience to new songs and original arrangements of historic hits. The July 16, Dario Baldan Bembo ,Elisabetta Viviani e Franco Romeo will star in the musical “The first to be named Francis”, inspired by the life of Pope Bergoglio. The musical program of the Prince's Garden will then host the’OBudapest Gypsy Orchestra (July 26) headed by the M° Antal Szalai who will present a wide repertoire of Gypsy music: from traditional tsardas to arrangements of folk songs. From the sounds of Eastern Europe we will then move on to Italian songwriting with two special performers, cabaret artists Ale & Franz (August 1), which will revive the words, thoughts and notes of two great Milanese songwriters: Jannacci and Gaber. L’August 8, the Loano music season will host one of the most versatile and brilliant groups in Italian pop music, the Rich and Poor, authors and performers of songs that have marked Italian music from the 1970s to the present. The Rich and Poor will perform the songs that took them to the top of the charts: from “Mamma Maria” to “Sarà perché ti amo,” from “Che sarà” to “Perdutamente Amore.” The festival will close with a concert by Chantyl & The Chain Gang (Aug. 15). The Italo-Tanzanian performer, who made her last significant appearance at Sanremo Giovani, has previously distinguished herself by winning the Inediti & Cantautori section at the Golden Disc Festival and by winning the Paolo Fresu Nuoro Jazz Festival Scholarship presented by Jury President Enrico Rava as part of the prestigious Massimo Urbani Award Jazz Soloist Competition.
The Prince's Garden musical program will be enriched by the “Return to the opera” curated by the cultural association of the same name, which will present two operettas and two opera productions. The July 23 the most famous arias from the operettistic repertoire will be performed in the “Operetta Grand Gala” with Noema Grass (Soprano) and Antonio Colamorea (Tenor) accompanied on the piano by Francis Barbagelata. Selected pages from the’Aida will be performed on the July 30 by Christine Schmid, Alberto Angeleri, Olga Kulicheva, Ivan Marino. The production will feature musical accompaniment on the piano by the Maestro Franco Giacosa, the choreography of the dance troupe The Studio Dance and the narrative voice of Andrea Elena. The August 6 will return to operetta with “Cheers there” by Carlo Lombardo with music by Virgilio Ranzato. The review will close with a performance of Tosca (August 20), a complete opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini, to a libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica.
La dance will be featured in the Prince's Garden program with five installations and one internship. The July 17 great return of the Ballet of Liguria, who will present the new show signed by Carlo Torre, “Middle Sea”, a danced journey through the musical traditions of lands bordering the Mediterranean. The July 31 the Liliana Cosi and Marinel Stefanescu Classical Ballet Company will present a special Ballet Gala which will bring together masterpieces from the classical repertoire and original choreography created to more recently composed classical music. La Live Flamenco Company will present the August 7 flamenco in the most complete form of artistic interaction between music and dance. The audience will be led into the authentic atmosphere of today's baile flamenco without neglecting the past tradition of the great masters. The August 9 modern and contemporary dance will be the focus of an internship led by Cyrus Venosa and the evening will cross over into the musical with the MUSICALinSide vs. MUSICALinSide show featuring the same Ciro Venosa and the Genoa Ballet Company GDS DanceCompanyItaly. The staging proposes a comparison of different artistic expressions-American, Anglo-Saxon, Hispanic, and Italian-beginning with musical compositions from film and theater productions that have captured the spirit and culture of origin of internationally renowned directors. The dance review will close with the Ariston Proballet Dance Company which will present the choreographer's new work Marcello Algeri: “The four seasons” (August 14). The ironic ballet in two acts will feature the San Remo Symphony Orchestra, which will perform live music for the show's choreography.
Cabaret and comedy theater will be the focus of five evenings of comedy, irony and satire. The July 10 Loano Cabaret will intertwine the Prize “The trash that we were...” with the show “Naked and raw” which will feature Anna Mazzamauro. Ironic, bubbly and always true, the Roman performer will urge the audience to strip away bad memories, wrong loves, sex taboos, free themselves from the fear of old age, and exhibit their diversity through purifying laughter. The July 24 the characters of Federica Sassaroli, born in the Zelig laboratory in Genoa and landed on the small screen on Sky - Comedy Central, will revive on the stage of Loano in an evening of fun and provocation: from the most scatterbrained of showgirls to the Spanish cook who specializes in stereotypes about Italians, to the historical cartoon character, and much more. The surreal and edgy comedy of Alberto Farina (August 10), since 2012 a member of the cast of “Colorado”,will engage the Loano audience with monologues drawn from very special life and childhood experiences. Farina's main gift is the simplicity with which he manages to make people laugh, thanks also to his appearance reminiscent of the suburban kids of the 1970s. The review dedicated to Italian comedy will host the Aug. 16 Ruggero and The New Timidi. The Udine-based singer-comedian with the unmistakable 1960s black helmet and typical mise consisting of a black suit and red tie, will perform live, accompanied by the band I Nuovi Timidi his most famous hits that have depopulated the web. The festival will close on August 22 With a tribute to the founder of the Genoese tetro, Gilberto Govi. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Ligurian comedian's birth, the La Valigia del Comico Theater Company will present one of his most famous plays “Under who touches”.
To toddlers and families, the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena will offer a program of performances, with free admission, included as part of the “Loano for the Family”. Throughout seven evenings by Children's Theater and one of entertainment to celebrate the winners of the Budding Architects Competition (July 15). The Mad Grass Theater will be present with some of the most significant titles from its extensive production aimed at children, signed by Daniele Debernardi: The three little pigs (July 1), Rapunzel (July 22), The Wizard of OZ (Aug. 5), Hansel and Gretel (Aug. 19), The wolf and the seven kids (Aug. 26). The performances of Erba Matta are characterized by the richness of scenic elements and constant research into the dramaturgy and technique used. There is an ongoing experimentation with narrative through the use of animated figure theater and the original elaboration of music and sound.
The review Loano for the Family will finally be enhanced by the show under the banner of awe and wonder of the Gentle Wizard (July 29) and the performance of the “Recycled musical circus” (August 12), an original band that plays all kinds of instruments made from salvaged materials and everyday objects,from the most classical and contemporary, such as the Chiteja, the Bassolardo, and the Buzzeria, to the most traditional-ethnic, such as the Battifon or the Barattolao, to the creation invention of new instruments, such as the Casalingatore (an analog synthesizer made of housewares, household appliances and children's electronic games), the Radiomin (an am/fm radio complex that sounds like a Theremin), the Vignarolophon (a hair dryer that sounds like a flute)
Finally, there are two strands cinematic that will animate the big screen at the Prince's Garden. From July 7 to 9 films from the film festival will be shown. “The trash that we were...”.The movie nights under the banner of laughter and Italian-style comedy, featuring the artistic direction of Paolo Borio, will give away the viewing of three unforgettable films: on July 7. “Everyone can get rich except the poor” by Mauro Severino (1976), on July 8, ’Fantozzi” by Luciano Salce (1975) and on July 9, “Evicted seeks fair-rent housing” by Francesco Pingitore (1983). This year's review aims to celebrate a great performer of Italian cinema and theater, Anna Mazzamauro, that the July 10, on the occasion of his recital will receive the City of Loano Award “Trash Film! Laughing Italian Style.”.
It will then be the geographic documentary at the center of the review titled “Some surroundings”, organized in cooperation with UNITRE and the CAI of Loano.. The cycle of documentaries dedicated to the filmmaker from Stone. Gino Viziano will present six short films on traditional culture and the Ligurian territory: “The 5 lands: a monument to the toil of the Ligurian farmer” (July 14), “Western Liguria and its folklore” (July 21), “Borgio Verezzi: two steps in the village” (July 28), “Ligurian Stone” (August 4), “Folklore in Western Liguria” (Aug. 18), “Albenga” (Aug. 25). The images are accompanied by music by Lucio Fossati, Federico De Caroli (Deca) and Roberto Scotolati.
