A thousand and one springs - first fruits of summer, returns to enliven Loano's springtime. The calendar of events, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, Will enrich the tourist offer with Big events in the square, concerts, shows and animations for children. Prominent in the program is the presence of two artists who have marked the history of Italian songwriting Eugenio Finardi (May 3), Nada and Fausto Mesolella (May 16).
Opening the season of great entertainment will be the “The Middle Ages in the Square” (April 18), which from 3:30 p.m. will bring to life in the streets and squares of the historic center and on the waterfront of Loano atmospheres and sounds of the past with sword, axe, shield and stick fighting in the deepest spirit of chivalry, drum and bagpipe concerts, jesters engaged in balancing acts, knife throwing, juggling and a thousand other fiery circus devilry, court feasts and falconry displays.
Always at April, the first of two appointments of Loano rages for artists in the square (April 26), a street circus festival for young and old with colorful parades of artists, circus workshops, balancing shows and clowning in the streets of the old town. The second event will take place on the May 1 bridge (May 2) and will bring the imagination and skills of street theater to Italy Square.
From June 26 to 28, the Marina of Loano will welcome the “Gathering of Classic American Yachts and Vintage Motor Yachts”, an international gathering of vintage motor boats with nautical skill tests, cultural events, nautical parade and vintage American cars.
The highlight of the great entertainment events will be as is now tradition the White Night (June) that will give concerts throughout the city and the presence in Italy Square of a big name of the Italian music scene.
La music will be the main theme of the spring with concerts, meetings and lectures.
Among April and May will continue the eighth edizion of.“Flying Disks...Close Encounters with Records, Books, Words and Sounds”, a review of meetings with artists and journalists, which this year is enriched with the project Author's Voices.
The April 18, at Civic Library,at 21.00, the performer, author and actor Peppe Voltarelli Will be interviewed by music journalist John Vignola. Between music and words, the artist's 20-year career will be traced.
The May 23, always in the library at 21.00, presentation of the box set (book, CD and DVD) will be held “Genoa and Songwriting.”,an encyclopedic work on Genoese singer-songwriters and more generally on songwriting in Liguria, edited and coordinated by Enrico de Angelis, published by GGallery editions of Genoa, commissioned by Carige, with the collaboration of Club Tenco. In dialogue with the artistic director of Club Tenco and the Ligurian singer-songwriters present at the meeting will be journalist Guido Festinese.
The review will be complemented by two prestigious appointments of Author's Voices. The May 3 at 17.30, in Fortress Square, Eugenio Finardi will dialogue with John Vignola, and will accompany his reflections with excerpts from his repertoire, the Blues tradition and improvisations arising from conversation with the audience. The May 16, to the 21.00 at Civic Library, always John Vignola will serve as the host in the meeting with Nada. The artist will be present together with Fausto Mesolella to recount her long career as a performer and author.
Also returning to the spring music program will be the “Young Concert Artists”,organized
since’S.M. Immaculate Music Association, which proposes three concerts with outstanding emerging musicians. The first two musical events will turn at 9 p.m. in Palazzo Doria. Opening the festival will be the young pianist Francis Mazzoli (May 30) active nationally and internationally, who has always been particularly interested in the Bachian and Mozart repertoire and rarities of classicism. The June 6 It will be the turn of the Ellipsos Saxophone Quartet, a formation of French saxophonists committed internationally to original arrangements from repertoires ranging from Baroque to Classical and Romantic. Young Concert Artists will move on the June 12 (h 21.00) in Fortress Square with the concert of the City of Recco Youth Band.
Always at June, the YEPP Music Festival (June 14), the music marathon involving the area's young bands and music schools. In addition, Loano will host the now classic summer tour opening of the Pesto Darkness (June 21) and the band concert (June 30) of the S.M. Immaculata Association at the Prince's Garden.
The transition with the summer event program will be marked by the spring highlight the White Night which will enliven the city this year at June.
Loano spring will also offer initiatives for the children and families. In addition to the two events Loano rages for artists in the square (April 26, May 2), will continue the review Loano for the Family, promoted by the’Department of Social Services, With the proposal of quality leisure time initiatives. L’No Head Start Association will organize in the Solar Field Area on Gozzano Street two afternoons dedicated to the reuse and barter market “Mom to Mom” (19 e April 26) and the “Festa of mini draft born in 2014 (June 14). In Fortress Square will bring to life the May 10 at Mother's Day.
Always in the area of the Solar field will take place the Storytelling workshop, organized by the’Society of the Curious Association. The May 17 from 15.30 Children and adults will be involved in workshops, performances and animations on the theme of reading.
The June 12 and 13 the Attimo Danza Civic School will present in the Sports Hall the end-of-year essay and the’Hakuna Matata Association will organize the June 28 the party show “A Day for Us.
Lo cultural space This year is dedicated to the “History Conversations in Art.”, edited for the scientific part by the’International Institute of Ligurian Studies and carried out in collaboration with the’Unitre of Loano. The series of meetings on historical topics, launched in the second half of March, will continue on Sunday afternoons at 3:30 pm at Civic Library at Kursaal Palace With lectures: “The Dorias and the Counter-Reformation in the Artistic Production of Loano” (April 19), entrusted to Gianmaria Mandara, a member of the International Institute of Ligurian Studies, and “Loano and its territory.” (May 10) edited by Bruno Massabò, former Superintendent of Archaeological Heritage of Liguria.
Also in the cultural and historical sphere is the ANPI's exhibition “1945 - 2015, 70th Anniversary Liberation of Loano”, which will be inaugurated on April 19 in the Mosaic Room of the Doria Palace, and can be visited until the April 26.
Loano spring will offer opportunities to satisfy the pleasures of the palate. The city's cultural and sports associations have prepared a calendar of single-issue festivals, which will aim to raise funds to support the activities they carry out throughout the year. The waterfront, near the Sea Workers' Cottage, will host: the April 25 and 26 and the May 30 and 31 l’St. Mary Immaculate Music Association with Fizzes and Eats, l’May 1 and 2 the Pro Loco Loano with Doughnuts on the waterfront, the May 9 and 10 l’Old Loano Association with the Ligurian pie festival, the June 7 l’A.S.D. Enriching the spring calendar of events will be the markets Of crafts and artists Crafts in the square, the Antiques and Collectibles Market, la review All Artisans (June 13/14) and the Coldiretti's Campagna Amica Market. (May 25).
Completing the calendar of spring events will be the pleasant walks of Loano not only sea organized byC.A.I. of Loano, that will lead to the discovery of the landscapes and nature that characterize the Ligurian hinterland.
Loano for Sports is confirmed to be full of sports events, thanks to the cooperation of Loano sports clubs. Among the national and international events, sailing will be the protagonist with the Techno 293 Windsurfing Class National Regatta (18/19 April), i Audi Sailing Series International Championships Melges 32 Emelges 20 Classes (May 1/3 and May 8/10), the Class A National Catamaran Regatta (May 16/17), valid for the National Ranking List.
Among April and May will take place in the Bocciodromo i Provincial Boccia Championships I,II and III cat. (April 27/30), the Finals of the Interprovincial Championships at the Team Darts of I, II and III Category (May 1/3 and May 4/6)organized by the’Italian Billiards Association Savona billiards section.
Also held in the Bocciodromo will be the Interprovincial competition in backhoe category C valid as a selection for the Italian Championship (May 1), the Interregional Night Squares Competition “Giose Burastero” Trophy.” (May 18/29), the Regional Nocturnal Competition in Terne category C.D.D. (June 9/12).
In addition, the Loano sports calendar will host the bicycle race 5th Great Fund City of Loano (April 19),the 20° International Swimming Meeting “City of Loano’ (May 16/17), the 1st Loa-Triathlon Kids and the 2nd Loaquathlon (May 23).
Also on the sports program are the 23rd Youth Soccer Trophy City of Loano that will accompany the spring from the May 2 at June 7, the 3.1 M/F Limited Tennis Tournament (May 8/17), the 3rd Category Individual Tennis Tournament (May 9/18),the 9th City of Loano Karate Trophy (May 24).
From May 21 to 24 the Bocciodromo, the Loano Tennis Club and the Municipal Stadium will host the’8th Turin CRALs' Trophy of bocce, soccer and tennis. The May 24,it will be the turn of theMarina of Loanowhere the Minivolleyball Tournament and Smurfolympics. Volleyball will return from June 29 to July 4, in the municipal sports facilities with the Camp Volleyball 2015.
Finally, still in the field of sports, the June 14 belt change ceremony will be held with Karate performances In the Sports Hall.
