The organizational machine of the Vibram® Maremontana - Cencin De Francesco Memorial, a sporting event that since last year has seen Loano As a starting and finishing base for races.
The city will return to host the competition in 2015 (March 21 and 22), thanks to renewed cooperation with the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
The sixth edition of the event promises to be full of new features. First, the amateur sports society was born. Maremontana ASD which will take over the organization of the event from this year. The association aims to promote and develop sports activities in the area, such as Fit Walking, Nordic Walking, Trail Running, Vertikal and Climbing.
Another new feature of this edition will be the more extensive program of side events. Lectures, presentations of technical items and tasting of typical products will be held in the sports village.
“The good results of the last edition," says Mayor Luigi Pignocca - have convinced us to strengthen our collaboration with the Maremontana organization. This event, in fact, is part of a broader idea of outdoor-related tourism development. Last year we joined the “Sentiero Liguria,” promoted by the Region of Liguria as part of the “Active Tourism” project of excellence, with the intention of including ourselves in the network of Ligurian outdoor offerings. We believe it is important to increasingly encourage the development of activities that can meet the needs of seasonal adjustment and new niches in the tourism market.”

The many activities that the amateur sports society Maremontana ASD is proposed to develop in our territory, they will enrich our offer by combining the growing interest in outdoor sports with tourism development and promotion. The Vibram® Maremontana will also be promoted abroad, and this will contribute to the visibility of our territory and the many opportunities to practice sports, surrounded by nature just a few steps from the sea.”

S. Loabikers, with the hope that all participants will have a day not only of competition, but also of fun.”
The 2015 edition of the Vibram® Maremontanaprovides for the mountain running over two distances 23K and 49K with a positive elevation gain that in the latter case is about 3000mt and the walk on a 17k hilly and scenic route and an 8K city route discovering historical monuments and characteristic corners of the city of Loano. The trail race has been included among the qualifying races for the Marguareis Trail registration. An important recognition that will offer great visibility to the competition.
Vibram® Maremontana participates as a column race at the Short Circuit Solidarity 2015 organized by I Run for Find The Cure, pledging to support the project of building a hostel for girls in Msolwa Ujamaa in Tanzania. In fact, part of the revenue from registrations will be donated to Find The Cure for the realization of this project.
