PRESS RELEASE (12/27/2014)
Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 dicember, a Loano, the review “Loano rages for artists in the square.”, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano will arrive in the streets and squares of downtown bringing the imagination and skills of street performers.
“The goal," explains Councillor Remo Zaccaria - is to enliven the historic center by offering a quality entertainment show rooted in the tradition of Italian folk theater. Afternoons of entertainment for young and old will offer colorful parades of artists, circus workshops balancing shows and clowning.”
Monday, December 29 kicking off the two-day street theater event will be at the 3:30 pm the traveling animation with the Company Karacongioli. From Italy Square, i Karacongioli will reach Fortress Square. Here children will find out what a Karacongiolo is: a giant, loud-voiced dwarf, a wisecracking little spirit with a pointy shoe, a dangling hat, tights for breeches and with a goose hanging from his belt. From 4 p.m., the merry little family of ravenous pretend leprechauns will delight in unsettling the audience with the usual dementedness of their impossible world. They will spin unicycle wheels, flashlights and diablos, in a mixture of technique and freewheeling comedy where one can hardly tell whether the person on stage is the clown or the juggler.
At 16.30, in Palestro Square, the Uncertain Circus will bring to life a circus arts workshop among fire, flames and drums.
At 17.00, you will return to Fortress Square for the Red Dwarfs Show. The Nanirossi will present their new show, a show that brings a breath of fresh air to the repertoire of street theater. For six years Rodrigo and Josephina have been pushing their cart full of laughter, technique and savoir fair in many Italian squares and beyond.
The show brings together the best of their repertoire, bringing to the stage a high level of “Mano a Mano” technique that will amaze the audience by the difficulty of the exercises performed and astound them even more by the ease with which they are performed. Moments of acrobatics will be interspersed with juggling virtuosity and audience involvement. The two great little performers will captivate audiences of all ages.
Tuesday, December 30, in Italy Square will be the Uncertain Circus Workshop to kick off the afternoon of fun. From 3:30 pm children will experience the magic of the circus, trying their hand at juggling exercises (balls, plates, hoops, diablo, handkerchiefs, bolas, etc.), balancing (ball, roller, tightrope) and on the aerial trapeze.
From 16.00, the Giulivo Itinerante Show will stop first in Rocca Square and then at 4:30 p.m. in Palestro Square. Giulivo with his cart will give life to a hilarious and impactful animation-show. Giulivo will juggle, inflate giant balloons, play with water balloons and get help from spectators, making them become an integral part of the show. Then he will hide to reappear on stilts, standing 2.70 meters tall.
At 17.00, in Italy Square, Milo and Olivia will be the performers of the show ”Lost & Found - A laugh-out-loud trip!” a street theater performance, between cabaret and clowning, combining the techniques of juggling, diablo, verticalism, acrobatics, aerial hooping and aerial rope.
A comic spectacle between absurdity and reality: a Parisian mademoiselle runs away from her wedding because the groom turned out to be too hasty and unbourgeois for her needs.
A last-minute escape, amid fury and tears, an extra-large luggage due to indecision of what to pack... Luggage rejection at the airport triggers unpredictable reactions in her.
Mademoiselle will try hard to shake things up, exploiting her bourgeoisie respectability, gab, and even rambling high-ranking acquaintances... But the suitcase cannot be loaded on board!
