Saturday, November 22, a Loano, at 4 p.m, at Council Chamber (Palazzo Doria)the conference will be held. “Pet therapy - new perspectives.”, organized by the’UNITRE by Loano under the auspices of the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.
The lecture will feature as speakers Veterinary Physician Dr. Pier Luigi Castelli and pedagogistdoct. Graziana Moretti, both professors within the Master's degree program in Pet Therapy Operator at the Faculty of Education University of Genoa and in the Master's degree program in Operator with Dogs in Animal and Assisted Interventions at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pisa.
After a brief excursus on the history of animal bioethics and research on the relationship of humans with other species, the two experts will address the topic of “pet therapy” with the many areas and modalities of work. Among all, a latest example: assisted animal intervention as a diversionary activity (leisure activity) within palliative medicine, aimed at the well-being of the patient and the dear giver (one who cares for the sick or disabled person).
