A Loano, they are already four hundred memberships to the’eighth edition of the Tour of the Walls - Paolo Romanisio Memorial, competitive running race that will take place Sunday, September 21. Registration will remain open until 9 a.m. on race day.
The sports event,organized by the Runners Sports Society Loano with contributions from the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, brings together an ever-growing number of participants from northern Italy.
Alongside a large number of passionate running enthusiasts, the competition will see numerous athletes at the start who will light the day's competitive flame.
Competing for first place in the men's field will likely be. Valerio Brignone (Cambiaso Risso Ge ), just back from the double silver in Izmir, Turkey, where he participated in the European Masters Championships, achieving an excellent 15’59” in the 5,000 on the track, Luca Campanella, who in March this year clocked 32’ 06” in the 10,000, Michele Chiefari, recent winner of the Michetin Trophy, Conrad Bado, Nourreddine Chakour.
Even more exciting is shaping up to be the women's race, which will feature top-level athletes starting with Emma Quail ( Cus Genova ), a sixth-place finisher at the World Marathon Championships in Moscow and team gold medalist in the marathon at the recent European Championships in Zurich with a personal best of 33’ 13”, who is a candidate to be the compulsory favorite for the final victory.
Contending for the top spot will try: Claudia Jasmine (Atletica Palzola), Italian marathon champion, Sonia Cassiano, Khadija Arafi (City of Genoa Group) with a personal best of 1h16’ in the half marathon, the Imperiese Kagume Yoyce Muthoni (Marathon Club Imperia), recent winner of the classic Alpicella-Monte Beigua uphill race.
Many Sports Companies from outside the region: Atletica Palzola, Thriathlon Pavese, Acqui runners, G.S. Castellania. Also worth mentioning is the participation of the French of Les Foulees Contoises, as well as that of neighboring Societies such as Atletica Cairo with 23 members and Cambiaso Risso Genova, the Italian Master's road and cross-country running champion.
Alongside the most titled athletes will run the people of the race fans who once again showed their appreciation for this event.

Associations from Lombardy and Piedmont are expected to participate again this year. Groups will be organized to join Loano to spend a day at the seaside of great sports. In this year's edition, the route will be tested with a view to a possible candidacy of the Runners Loano to host in the 2015 event the Italian Championship of the category of Veterans of Sports.
The program of the day will include at the opening, at 9.30, the race of the little ones on the Tour of the Walls Baby (1 km) Dedicated to under-14s (free registration).
The meet and finish of the competitive running race will be in Italy Square, the departure (10 a.m.) in Cadorna Square.
At 12 noon, on the stage of the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena prizes will be awarded to the winners absoluti, those of the various categories and the many amateurs who will take part in the eighth edition of the Tour of the Walls of Loano.
