It is renewed at Loano the traditional appointment with the “September Sport at Loano”, which again this year presents a full calendar of sports events and outdoor activities, promossidall’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano in collaboration with the Loano sports clubs.
“The September of Sports at Loano," says Councillor. Remo Zaccaria - every year helps us to remind residents and tourists that our city is distinguished by the presence on the municipal territory of numerous associations committed to the training of new generations in various sports disciplines and the many modern facilities dedicated to sports. But at Loano, sport is also combined with major events and tourism. Each year, in fact, the city hosts a rich program of events of national character and high technical level, with the presence of some of the best athletes of the many of disciplines. Some of these events are concentrated in the month of September, attracting athletes, instructors, referees, managers, chaperones and the public, positively influencing tourist attendance.”
Kicking off the sports event will be the September 7 the Youth Pallapugno Meeting, organized by the Savona section of the Italian Pallapugno Federation. The event will take place on the soccer fields of the “G. Ellena” stadium.
Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14, in the Sports Hall “E. Garassini”, men's youth basketball will return with the XXVIth edition of the Palms Trophy organized by the A.S.D. Basketball Pool 2000 Loano. The competition will be reserved for three categories: series C, under 17, under 15.
Sunday, September 14 the Sports hall “Guzzetti” will host the Women's D Series Volleyball Tournament. promoted by the’A.S.D. St. Pius X Volleyball.
The 20 e 21 September still volleyball in the spotlight with the 7th National Youth Tournament “Riviera delle Palme”, organized by A.S.D. St. Pius X Volleyball in collaboration withthe Polisportiva Maremola of Pietra Ligure.
Three trophies in all will be played over the long weekend of sports: the 10th Liliana Tassara Trophy reserved for the category under 18 female, the 12th Giuseppe Guzzetti Trophy for the’under 16 women's, l’8th Domenico Dama Memorial for the’under 14 girls.
The tournament will take place on 8 race courses: four in Loano (Palazzetto dello Sport, Palasport Guzzetti, two fields of the Giovanni Falcone Institute), two in Pietra Ligure (Palazzetto dello Sport and Middle School gymnasium), two in Borghetto S.S. (Palazzetto and tensile structure).
Sunday, September 21, the streets of the historic center of Loano will once again be the picturesque setting for the competitive running race Tour of the Walls - Paolo Romanisio Memorial, coming this year to the’eighth edition.
The event, organized by the sports club Runners Loano, will take place on the now-traditional 10-kilometer route, which will see the competitors run along the waterfront and around the perimeter of the city's ancient walls, with picturesque passages through Piazza Italia and the historic center. The meet and finish will be in Italy Square, the departure (10 a.m.) in Cadorna Square.
Always Sunday, September 21 will take place on 2° Loano Cycling Team Cycling Trophy, race reserved for the Juvenile category. The competition organized by A.S.D. Loano Cycling Team will start at 2:30 p.m.
From Sept. 26 to 28, Loano 2 Village will host a seminar entitled. “How to develop smarter soccer players.”, organized by the’A.S.D. Loanesi San Francesco.
The three-day training will feature. Horst Wein, a world expert on youth soccer, and of Marcello Nardini, former goalkeeper of Hannover 96 and president of the Horst Wein Association Italy.
The September Sports at Loano will close with the Dog Olympics, organized by Animal House, which will take place on the September 27 and 28 in the beach Marina Beach.
Completing the September program are free calendar excursions Loano not only sea, organized by the loanese section of the C.A.I.
