The city today offers a barrier-free waterfront of more than 4 km, from which there is a splendid view of the sea. In the summer, thanks to elevators and facilitated access, anyone can enjoy the many bathing establishments along the shoreline, as well as stroll through the Marina di Loano marina. Great attention has also been paid to the sports facilities, which are barrier-free and allow everyone to practice their favorite sport.
L’Department of Social Services, as early as 2007, started the project of the “assisted bathing service”, by purchasing “Tiralo” sea wheelchairs, which allow the disabled to comfortably reach the shore and get rid of the wheelchair support, floating, once they reach the water. The service is carried out in the municipal baths “Lampara” and by reservation in the Dolphin, Medusa and Moray eel baths. Finally, again from the collaboration with the’Dopodomani Onlus Association the project was born Friendly Villa ... for the Aftermath., family home and after-hours, designed as a center for the social integration of people with complex disabilities.
