Rich program of events, at Loano, for the long mid-August weekend.
From Aug. 14 to 17, the calendar of events, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano, will range from music, cabaret and fireworks.
The August 14, waiting for the August bank holiday, from the 9 p.m., on the waterfront, in Orto Maccagli, will be held on the Pooh tribute concert. Performing songs by the timeless Italian band will be the cover band “Where the sun begins. The group consisting of Elio Mantovani (vocals), Riccardo Visentini (drums and vocals), Alex Mantovani (guitar and vocals), Stefano Di Stefano (keyboards and vocals), and Luca Castelli (keyboards and vocals) will perform live some of the greatest hits from the historic band's extensive repertoire.
Always the August 14, to the 21.30, l’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, will host “Dancing with the Movies - Steps in the Movie”. La Ariston Pro Ballet Company will present the performancefrom choreographer Marcello Algeri dedicated to the Maestro Ennio Morricone and to his wonderful music. An Academy Award winner, Morricone with his soundtracks created a “genre” in Italian and world cinematography. Dance will meet cinema and the result will be a union capable of stimulating emotions and bringing the audience and the authors themselves inside a world made of images, colors, energy in motion and joy. The evening will close, at 23.00, on the Kursaal Pier, with i fireworks: luce, form, color and rhythm will compose an original and unique performance.
In the sky in front of the Loano coastline, paintings of light in the shape of fountain, sphere and rain-effect will intersect forming a magical play of colorful lights and a crackling scenery.
The carioca rhythm will set fire to Loano's nightlife on the August 15. From 9 p.m., on the waterfront, a special August holiday concert will be held in Maccagli Garden. “The Night in Rio, as part of the Finally Friday. Protagonist of the tribute to Brazilian music will be the formation Felice Reggio Quintet, which will bring the fiery rhythm of Bossa Nova to the waterfront. Leading the audience into the atmosphere of the Brazilian musical tradition will be a prominent personality of Italian music, Felice Reggio (trumpet and flugelhorn), composer, arranger and conductor, author of jazz and pop music compositions. Joining him will be Serafina Carpari (vocals), Beppe Balossino (drums), Enrico Ciampini (double bass), Mimmo Gazzana (guitar).
Saturday, August 16, the evening will offer a double musical date.
At 21.00 on the waterfront, in Maccagli Garden, Black Vinyl Dance and Fun Band will create an engaging concert with a repertoire that brings together all the great evergreens of dance, rock and pop music from the 1950s to the present. All expertly mixed in thematic medleys.
Pure Energy” is the hallmark of the six-musician band, which has been putting on a super-dynamic show for more than 10 years, accompanied by sophisticated costume changes, sets and choreography.
At 21.30, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, will stage the tribute to Michael Jackson of King of Pop. Eleven elements united by their love of the King of Pop's music and art will bring to life a show faithful to the originalfor sound, choreography and special effects
Singer and frontman Vittorio Masullo will go over Michael Jackson's most famous Hits with the whole band, meticulously taking care of every little detail. On guitars will be one of the most interesting female faces on the Italian music scene, Roberta Raschellà, a follower of the legendary Jennifer Batten, historic American guitarist with whom KING OF POP had the honor of playing two concerts in Italy. The swirling bass lines, will be reprised by the inimitable funky touch of Fabio Longo, a well-known teacher from Milan. A student of Diego Corradin (Raf's musician), the tireless engine of KING OF POP, Fiamma Cardani, enchanting drummer, will surprise the audience with her strength and grit.
Dancers Hernando Di Niso, Mattia Pesce, Alarico Pievani, Francesco Lauro and Stefano Dionisio will dance the choreography curated by Giuseppe Mattia Masullo. The season of entertainment will continue on August 17 with Loano Cabaret which will host, at 9:30 pm, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, Michelangelo Pulci. A comic and other actor, Pulci is best known in the guise of his many characters. Among the latest, one cannot fail to mention Mario, the forgetful parliamentarian and the imitation of footballer Balotelli, one of the most popular characters on the latest edition of Colorado (Italia 1). Live, his transformism and the fast-paced rhythm of his jokes make him able to catalyze the attention of an audience of all ages and tastes.
Michelangelo Pulci's career began in 1996 in the group “Rotten Horses,” with which a few years later, he made his TV debut in the program “Super Ciro.” Since then he has participated in numerous TV shows, most recently “Colorado” (Italia 1). Meanwhile, his name appears in the cast of some important film productions, such as “L'arcano incantatore” by Pupi Avati, “Workers” by Lorenzo Vignolo and “Box Office 3D” by Ezio Greggio. Always the August 17, in the Medusa Baths, from 10 p.m., the concert of the La Combricola del Blasco, a tribute to the best old and new hits of the legendary Vasco Rossi.
