PRESS RELEASE (11/8/2014)

Tuesday, August 12, a Loano, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, will stage the musical performanceABBA Dream, tribute to the great band, whose songs are considered cult hits.

The evening, part of the program of events promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano eorganized by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Luca Malvicini, will kick off at 9:30 pm.

The songs are performed entirely live by a band supporting the two female voices and a choir. But it is not only the music that makes a show great. The choreography and numerous costume changes, as well as Abba-style choreography, serve as a backdrop to the big hits of a band that has shaped the history of pop music.

ABBA was Sweden's most successful pop music group. They are estimated to have sold more than 375 million records worldwide. This made them one of the most popular groups in the history of pop music.

The group formed around 1970 without ever changing their lineup: Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (better known as “Frida”). Four years later they were already at the peak of their musical career after winning the Eurofestival edition in 1974 with Waterloo. Since then they achieved great worldwide success and popularity.

The group disbanded in 1982, and no reunion has ever been planned by the four since.
