 Saturday, August 9, a Loano, in the’Oratory of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary (Turchini),will take place, at 21.15, the concert of the musician Xavier Deprez, titular organist and artistic adviser for Festive Masses at the Co-Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula in Brussels, as well as professor of organ at the Mons Conservatory of Music and the Woluwé-Saint-Lambert Academy. He was also titular organist at Notre-Dame du Finistère Church in Brussels between 1993 and 2011.

The evening, sponsored by the’Department of Tourism and Culture of the City of Loano in collaboration with the Brotherhood of the Turks' Chapels fits into the program of the 16th International Organ Festival, organized by the’Rapallo Music Association.

Xavier Deprez will perform pieces by Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583-1643), Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707) , John De Macque (1550-1614), Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706), Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), George Friedrich Händel (1685-1759),  Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764).

Xavier Deprez, after completing his studies under Jean Boyer, Stanislas Deriemaeker and Jean Ferrard, won first prize at the AXION Classics Competition in Brussels and was a finalist in the First International “G. Silbermann” Competition in Freiberg.
He has performed as organist in several European countries and Japan and collaborated as continuist with the baroque orchestra “Les Agrémens.” He has recorded with the Namur Chamber Choir and Capella Sancta Michaelis Benoît Mernier's “Missa Christi Regis Gentium” and Chris Christoffels“ ”Missa Brevis“ and the CD ”Bach ex cathedra“ on the ”Grenzing“ organ of the Brussels Co-Cathedral. His discography also includes improvisations on Gregorian themes and works by Maurice Duruflé (Prelude and Fugue on Alain's Name and Requiem). As a composer of sacred music, Xavier Deprez has recently published for Fidélité Editions a collection of psalms and the ”Messe Rivespérance.".
