The show signed by Charles Tower is a journey through the most beautiful pages thatVerdi wrote for the dances included in his operas, in deference to the French Grand-Opera tradition that required, obligatorily, the inclusion of a ballet within the opera.

The music on the program is taken from the Macbeth (Act III), from the Sicilian Vespers and from the’Aida in a journey that moves from the darker tones of the Shakespearean drama in the 1865 version (Act I,Dances I-III) to the descriptive paintings of “The Four Seasons,” a splendid ballet written for the third act of Les vêpres siciliennes (1855), and concludes with the oriental atmospheres of Aida (Act I prelude, sacred dance of the priestesses, dance of the little Moorish slaves, ballet), which Verdi wrote for the inauguration of the new Cairo Theater in 1870.

The evening is at FREE ADMISSION.
