Tuesday, July 15, on the beach of Loano will take place the XXVIII edition by Budding architects, sand building competition sponsored by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports in collaboration with the’State Property Department and the SIB (Italian Balneari Syndicate) of Loano.
Protagonists of the initiative, included in the review “Family-friendly Loano”, will be the children, who will turn into little architects for a day and battle it out in the construction of imaginative and elaborate works of sand.
The making of sand castles will kick off in the morning. Teams composed of children, once the subject is decided, will get to work sculpting wet sand. The only materials they will be able to use are natural ones: sand, water, stones, shells and seaweed.
The tools of the trade will be shovels, buckets and of course lots of imagination. As every year, adults will be able to observe, without intervening. In the afternoon, from 3 p.m., the sand castles will be subjected to careful evaluation by the jury. All participants will receive a free gadget.
Winners of the sand building contest will be awarded prizes, Wednesday, July 16, from 9:30 pm, during the evening that will take place in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena. Animating the party will be the cooperative I.so Theatre.
