Saturday, May 10, a Loano, will kick off the review “In Ode to Mary”, organized by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.

“We renew the appointment with the sacred music festival “In Ode to Mary,” - explains Councillor Remo Zaccaria - which again this year will be itinerant and will touch the sacred places of the city. We propose a journey to discover the artistic treasures kept in Lovran's oratories and churches, accompanied by songs and praises to Mary for the Marian Month.”

Opening the festival will be a concert by the trio formed by Paola Arecco on the piano, Gianni Gollo on transverse flute and Claudia Murachelli As a lead vocalist.

At 8:30 pm, in the’Oratory of St. John the Baptist (White Chapels), the proven trio will perform a repertoire of classical sung and instrumental pieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Surrounded by the four artistic processional crucifixes of Loano's oldest confraternity, the vocal and instrumental ensemble will perform the “Hail Mary” of the composers Franck, Caccini, Arcadelt, Gounod, Saint-Saens, as well as classical and religious pieces by Massenet, Haendel, Frisina, Corelli, Verdi, Rossini.

The review will continue on May 17, always at 8:30 pm, at Church of the Visitation with the duo consisting of Alessia Privitera on transverse flute and Gianpaolo Minuti on the piano.

This young pair of musicians from Savona will perform a repertoire of Marian compositions.

The review will close on May 24, in Mount Carmel Church with a concert by the Briozzo Duet, accompanied for the occasion by M° finalese Paul Venturino, pianist, organist, composer and choir director of the Savona Cathedral Sistine Chapel.{:}
