Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, a Loano, will take place on the first weekend of the video workshop dedicated to the video clip, organized by the YEPP Loano group in collaboration with YEPP Italy Youth Network with contributions from the’Department of Social Services of the City of Loano, of the Compagnia di San Paolo of Turin e “A. De Mari” Foundation of Savona.
The full immersion in the video world will be led by director Andrea Serafini, European coordinator of Empower Media Network.
The initiative will be attended by local youths and young people from groups YEPP of Albenga, La Spezia, Genoa Cornigliano, Turin and Langhe.
The workshop aims to involve young people in the making of the video clip of the music track “Quail Girl” of the group Apodyopsis, which last year won the competition for young bands “Up'n'coming”.
The workshop methodology will be based on non-formal and informal learning, with continuous
involvement of all participants, according to the media workshop methodology developed as part of the EmpowerMedia Network. The second weekend of training will be dedicated to filming and will take place March 1 and 2.
The band Apodyopsis was born from the meeting of Fabio Smeraldo and Francesco Ponte (ex-Code Noir) with guitarist Vittorio Corradi (ADD) and drummer David Botter. Guests of Davide's tool shed-rehearsal room, the four of them engage in an intense series of rehearsals during which they discover an affinity as much in influences as in sensibilities. In just under two months of rehearsals they lay the groundwork for a repertoire of covers and explore the world of composition, repurposing some songs inherited from previous experiences and writing new material. In 2012 they recorded a first song, “Quilone Girl.”.
The workshop represents the first initiative promoted under the Video activity of the project YEPP Arts Workshop.
This will be followed by a course, which will explain the basic theoretical and practical principles of filming The video workshop will include a theoretical part on the technical functions of the video camera, framing, light, and practical lessons. As part of the training, a commercial will be designed and produced for an awareness campaign on prevention issues for young people.
