“We are pleased to be able to present in the Christmas book review," says Councillor Remo Zaccaria - this new guide to Ligurian cuisine by Riccardo Ferrari. It is not just a recipe book; it is actually much more than that. In fact, the volume tells the story of our territory. The dishes presented are an expression of the culture linked to the world of fishing, which was of great importance in our economy in the past. In addition, it provides an opportunity to express solidarity with an important project for our city, which is ”Villa Amico,“ a property owned by the City of Loano and made available to the non-profit Association Dopodomani Onlus for the implementation of an ”after us” dedicated to severely disabled people."

The book presents about 50 recipes from the cuisine of fishermen of yesterday and today. A journey through the recipes and seafood tastes of Liguria. Riccardo Ferrari continues his research work on poor Ligurian cuisine. The preponderant part of the recipes is based on anchovies and was made thanks to the collaboration of Emiliane Ciccione, a fish trader from Finale Ligure and daughter of old Finale restaurateurs. Some of the recipes are unpublished: hake with leeks, anchovy fritters, spatula fish in slices, breaded and fried mussels, my father's salad, etc.

“The reader and readers who dabble in old-fashioned seafood cooking," explains author Riccardo Ferrrari - will have the opportunity to learn about and make simple recipes with ingredients from our land of Liguria and our beautiful Ligurian Sea.”

They enrich the volume 115 ancient photographic images Of the Loano of yesteryear and  three profiles of loanese sailors Who have traveled the seas of the world.

During the meeting, the reprint of the third edition of the book will also be presented “Scent of Arziglio. The ancient cuisine of the fishermen of Loano and Liguria.”.

Proceeds from sales, as was the case with Riccardo Ferrari's other two books, will be totally allocated to the project “Villa Amico”, after-us, group home for people with disabilities, carried out by the’Association Day after tomorrow Nonprofit.

The author, who has been collaborating with Dr. Genta for years to carry out the project, says, “I hope that the people of Lovran and tourists can, by purchasing a copy , donate a book on Loano for the Christmas holidays and at the same time participate in the project. Let's give a helping hand, even at Christmas, to those who are less fortunate than us. In today's society, a small drop poured into the ocean will serve to improve the life project of people who are part of our community.”{:}
