They continue, in Loano, initiatives promoted by the Counter Artemisia Gentileschi under the auspices of the’Department of Social Services of the Municipality of Loano and the Social and Health District 5 Finalese.
Saturday, December 14, from the hours 8.45, the presentation of the pilot project will be held in the Council Chamber of Palazzo Doria. “One thing leads to another - respect education as violence prevention.” aimed at boys and girls of Comprehensive Institute Loano-Boissano and G. Falcone Secondary Education Institute.
The public meeting will feature speakers from the Artemisia Gentileschi Desk for the illustration of the project. Also speaking will be the Dr. Barbara Visentini who will present the workshop “Dream Postcards, the Prof. Renata Lubatti, manager of the Ist. Comprensoriale Loano-Boissano and the Prof. Ivana Mandraccia, head of Falcone Secondary School, who will tell about the following. “Territorial school reality” and Prof. Maria Rita Parsi, well-known psychologist and writer who started the Children's Movement Foundation, which will explore the theme “Respect as a need for existential security.”.
Lo Artemisia Gentileschi Desk has been engaged since last spring in the training of volunteer workers at the anti-violence center, with the intention of ensuring a welcoming space capable of making victims of violence, who turn to it, feel at ease. In fact, the desk was created to offer initial help and counseling and to network with all services in the area that deal with violence.”
Lo Artemisia Gentileschi Desk was inaugurated on November 25, 2010, and in January 2011 opened its offices in Albenga and Loano. In December 2012, it was established as a voluntary association.
It is entirely staffed by volunteers who provide telephone listening and individual interview management; in addition, the volunteer team of psychologists and attorneys provide specialized counseling.
Absolute anonymity is guaranteed. The Help Desk is addressed to women who suffer or have suffered physical, psychological and economic violence, in family and non-family environments, and who are in a condition of distrust in themselves and their resources. The Help Desk is supported by the Liguria Region and from the Savona Province. {:}
