Registration kicks off at PaS (Ready for School Aid), an initiative promoted by YEPP Loano, with contributions from the’Department of Social Services and Youth Policy of the City of Loano, of Compagnia di San Paolo of Turin and from the “A. De Mari” Foundation.
The new initiative, aimed at secondary school children (middle school), will weave together afternoon workshops with assisted study groups at subsidized prices.
“The idea that drives this initiative," explains Councillor, Luca Lettieri - as well as the entire youth policy project of our municipality, is to create opportunities for socialization through “doing together.” Courses, laboratories, workshops are the opportunities to promote youth aggregation. In this project, the Villa Maria Youth Aggregation Center “Space for Boys” -Small Opera Institute, which has been part of the YEPP Group of Loano for more than a year. The PaS service will offer a workshop and three afternoons of assisted study from Tuesday to Friday. We believe that the proposed daily afternoon activities can be a valuable help for families, especially those where both parents work.”
The project will kick off from mid October. Three afternoons will be devoted to the tasks. Supervised study, in groups of ten children, will be supervised by qualified teachers. A teacher for science, humanities and language subjects will be present in turn.
From October to January 2014, the Friday afternoon will be dedicated to the laboratory “Rhythm Workshop”, led by Manuela Allemano of The Sound Garden Cooperative. Rhythmic creativity, body expressiveness, sound and movement education will be the focus of the activity offered once a week, always from 3 to 5 p.m.
From February to May every Wednesday will take place on juggling course led by Simone Peretti of Circusabout. In the afternoons devoted to “circus,” children can try their hand at juggling (balls, plates, hoops, diablo, handkerchiefs, bolas, etc.) and balancing (ball, slackline) exercises.
The secretariat for information and registration will be open on the following days September 25,26,27,30 and October 1, in the Kursaal Palace. {:}
