Thursday, September 12, the excursion program Loano not only sea, proposes as a destination the Mount Armetta (m.1739).
The ascent to the summit, not particularly challenging, offers beautiful panoramic and naturalistic views. The route will start from the Colle di Caprauna. From here you will ascend a path nestled among fir and larch trees, until you gradually reach the slopes of the Mount of the Guard, where vast pastures will open up with views toward the Pennavaira Valley and Albenga.
Having gained altitude, one can admire the Ligurian Alps in their entirety (Pizzo d'Ormea, Antoroto, Mongioie, Saccarello, etc.) and the Tanaro Valley below with Ormea. The last uphill section will point directly to the Mount Armetta.
The descent on the east ridge of the mountain leads through grassy stretches and a dense larch forest to the Hill of San Bartolomeo and then gradually toward the Church of Madonna Guarneri and then reached the Colle di Caprauna.
The walking time of the loop route is. four and a half hours. Departure is at 8:30 a.m.. The hike, led by members of the Loanese Section of C.A.I is totally free and can be done by everyone, at any age.
The rendezvous point è Italian Alpine Club square, near the level crossing of the Pentagonal Tower. Participants of the walks will be found without prior notice, possibly with their own cars at the indicated time.
