Approved by the City Council of Loano support for two projects dedicated to the “new born”, promoted by the’Department of Social Services.
“We have renewed contributions to two initiatives. – explains Councillor Luca Lettieri - inserted as part of the activity “Family-friendly Loano. For a number of years we have been supporting the infant mortality program of the’UNICEF related to the purchase of the Piglet.
Pigotta dolls are rag dolls handmade with imagination and creativity by grandparents, parents and children at home, school, associations and senior centers throughout Italy. A minimum donation of €20 adopts a Pigotta and supports UNICEF and its life-saving programs in Central and West Africa. The City of Loano will purchase eighty dolls which will be donated to newborn residents.
It will also continue the “Become a green mom.”, which involves the’No Head Start Association In training activities for families on respecting the environment. This includes the purchase of 80 washable diaper kits, that will be given to the mothers and fathers of the new babies.”
