Sabato 31 august, a Loano, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, at 21.00, the Grand Gala “Stars in Dance” will close the festival Labat Loano Dance, dance review promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano e directed by master choreographer Gino Labate and by the dancer, teacher and choreographer Emanuela Campiciano.
The evening will be dedicated to the Master Fernando Alonso, one of the fathers of Cuban classical ballet and a former director of the National Ballet of Cuba who passed away recently.
International guests honored by the festival, winners of the competition will dance “A Dancing People.”, interns and the Labat Contemporary Dance Company composed of Diletta Della Martira, Maria Novella Della Martira and Francesca Capacci with choreography by Gino Labate.
During the evening, the Grand Prix “Giuliana Penzi” a Vittorio Galloro (Lifetime Achievement Award), La Velle Smith Jr (Lifetime Achievement Award), Fabio Mordà (Talent Award), Nicolai Gorodiskii (Talent Award), Arianne Lafita (Recognition to Talent).
Born in Naples, Vittorio Galloro is the winner of several awards including the Silver Medal in the Havana International Ballet Competition (Cuba, 1997), the Silver Medal in the Vignale Competition (Italy), the Silver Medal and the Best Italian Dancer Award in the Rome Prize (2001), the Special Jury Prize in the “Rudolf Nureev” Competition in Budapest (2008), etc. Along his career, he has danced in the Cuban National Ballet, European Ballet in London, Reggio Emilia Classical Ballet Compagia, Budapest Opera, Prague National Ballet, Introdans Company in Holland, Cuban National Ballet - Laura Alonso Company. Vittorio Galloro has done, along the time, principal roles in various classical ballets: “Don Quijote,” “the Corsair,” “The Flames of Paris,” “Paquita,” “Coppelia,” “The Ripper,” “Sleeping Beauty in the Woods,” “Giselle” and others.
