Friday, Aug. 30, a Loano, in the’Summer Arena Prince's Garden, to the 9 p.m, the preliminary and final rounds of the sixth edition of the competition “A Dancing People”.

The national selection for young talent and choreography is organized as part of the’eleventh edition of Labat Loano Dance Festival, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano e directed by master choreographer Gino Labate and by the dancer, teacher and choreographer Emanuela Campiciano.

The competition “A Dancing People” provides for the participation of soloists, pas de deux and groups. Participants may bring on stage choreography belonging to any technique and style, with no age limit. The jury, composed of distinguished figures in the field of dance will award a first, second and third place for both the choreography competition and the young talent competition, two grand prix, two special mentions and a festival revelation award.

Competition winners (first place and grand prix) will attend the festival's closing gala Saturday, August 31, an evening in which the big names of international dance will dance.

President of the Jury will be Gino Labate, dancer, teacher and choreographer, who as a dancer at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome and the Teatro Comunale in Florence, has held solo and prima ballerina roles alongside such illustrious names in dance as Rudolf Nureyev, Carla Fracci, Sylvie Guillemm, Ekaterina Maximova, Peter Shaufuss, Vladimir Vassiliev, Eva Edvokimova, Elisabetta Terabust, and Andria Hall.

Gino Labate Is the artistic director of the festival Labat Loano Dance, this year dedicated to the Master Fernando Alonso, one of the fathers of Cuban classical ballet and a former director of the National Ballet of Cuba who passed away recently.

As has become a tradition, this edition of the Labat Loano Dance gathered at Loano internationally renowned masters who directed internships with young people from all regions of Italy.{:}
