From Aug. 26 to 31, Loano  will host l’eleventh edition by Labat Loano Dance, dance review promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano e directed by master choreographer Gino Labate and by the dancer, teacher and choreographer Emanuela Campiciano.

“Loano - explains Councillor Remo Zaccaria - will be the capital of dance for six days with stages, performances, competitions for choreographers and young talents and a grand gala featuring the stars of ballet. This year's guests will include. Velle Smith Jr., Michael Jackson's official dancer and choreographer, for the first time in Italy, and Fabio Morda, veteran of the great success of his tour “Michael Jackson Tribute Artist” America. The festival, which will feature international guests and teachers of the highest technical and artistic level, will be dedicated this year to the Master Fernando Alonso, one of the fathers of Cuban classical ballet and former director of the National Ballet of Cuba who passed away recently. The event will bring young people from all regions of Italy to Loano and will offer tourists and residents the opportunity to see high quality dance performances.”

Dance classes will be held in the Sports Hall. Teaching courses in various techniques and styles will be internationally renowned masters such as: Dunia Vera Hernandez (Cuba, Classical Dance Stage), international maitre de ballet and trainer in Italy of Cuban Classical Dance Methodology and Cuban Classical Dance Methodology,  Gino Labate (Italy, Choreographic Workshop),Oscar Torrado Del Puerto (Spain, Stage Step Two), Maria Cristina Alvarez (Cuba, Classical Repertoire Stage), Beatriz Torres Etayo (Cuba, Character Dance Stage and Baby classic), Monica Sava (Italy, Balanchine Repertory Stage), Alessandro Minghi  (Italy, Stage Modern), Barbara Gatto (Italy, Modern), Berta (Italy, Hip hop).

As part of the review will be held the sixth edition of the “A Dancing People” competition and the fourth edition of the “Grand Prix Giuliana Penzi.”.

The competition “A Dancing People” provides for the participation of soloists, pas de deux and groups. Participants may bring on stage choreography belonging to any technique and style, with no age limit. The jury, composed of distinguished figures in the field of dance will award a first, second and third place for both the choreography competition and the young talent competition, two grand prix, two special mentions and a festival revelation award.

Friday, Aug. 30, in the’Summer Arena Prince's Garden, to the 9 p.m, the preliminary and final rounds of the choreography and young talent competition will be held.

 Saturday, August 31, in the’Prince's Garden Summer Arena, at 21.00, the Grand Gala “Stars in Dance” will close the festival. International guests honored by the festival, winners of the “A Dancing People” competition, interns and the Labat Contemporary Dance Company composed of Diletta Della Martira, Maria Novella Della Martira and Francesca Capacci with choreography by Gino Labate.

During the evening, the Labat Grand “Giuliana Penzi” a Vittorio Galloro (Lifetime Achievement Award), La Velle Smith Jr (Lifetime Achievement Award), Fabio Mordà (Talent Award), Nicolaii Gorodiski (Talent Award), Arianne La Fita (Recognition to Talent).
