firesIn August, Loano offers a rich program of entertainment initiatives, promoted by the’Department of Tourism Culture and Sports of the City of Loano.

 The August 14, the music will animate the waterfront. From 9 p.m, in Maccagli Garden the students of the singer and teacher Danila Satragno will compete to the last note. The evening will be conducted by Elena Ballerini (RAI anchorwoman).

At hours 23.00, On the Kursaal Lido Pier, are announced the fireworks: luce, form, color and rhythm will compose an original and unique performance.

In the sky in front of the Loano coastline, paintings of light in the shape of fountain, sphere and rain-effect will intersect forming a magical play of colorful lights and a crackling scenery that will create an enveloping atmosphere.

loanopescatoriridAugust 15, Loano will celebrate the August bank holiday with “10,000 lights in the night”, an event organized by the Confraternity of the Turks' Chapels with the cooperation of Loano fishermen, of the’Local Maritime Office, de The Navy of Loano, of the Marine Baths Union. At 9 p.m, more than ten thousand colorful candles will be laid in the sea.The initiative, revives an ancient tradition, which has its roots in Loano's seafaring culture. The lighting of the sea and the procession of illuminated boats originated, in the early 20th century. The fishermen and sailors of Loano thus paid homage to the Our Lady of the Visitation, patroness of the sea and sailors. Always the Aug. 15 at 9 p.m., on the waterfront, in Maccagli Garden, will be held the concert “Cinema Effect.”. The Charon Group will present a musical repertoire from the most beautiful movie soundtracks: Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Graduate, Last Tango in Paris, Titanic and music by Rota and Morricone.

 Irene GrandiThe musical highlight of the season will be the concert by Irene Grandi (August 16) who will present his latest live project “How you never saw me.”. The Florentine artist will tell her story through songs from nearly 20 years of her musical journey, arranged in a rock/blues key, with indie veins, by Irene herself and a new ensemble of musicians all from Florence: on guitar and keyboards, the project's musical director Xavier Lanza, co-author of “Come non mi hai visto mai,” Irene's latest unreleased song contained on the album ”Irene Grandi & Stefano Bollani”; on bass and double bass Peter Spitilli, to the battery Fabrizio Morganti and keyboards Titian Borghi.

The new project reflects the transversality of Irene Grandi who, while remaining tied to her musical history, always keeps alive and develops an interest in the new, contaminations and collaborations.

At 9:30 pm in the APrince's Garden summer rena, the curtain will rise on The wall live tribute, show with band, singers and choir, based on Pink Floyd's concept album “The Wall.” Re-enacted today, exactly thirty years after the release of the Alan Parker-directed film, Pink Floyd's work has an extraordinary impact. It is much more than a tribute show: it is a concert performance in which live music, lighting, video and 3D graphics come together in a highly original and impressive blend.

The week will close with the  Tango in the square and the review dedicated to the animated cinema by Michel Ocelot. Sunday, August 18, from 20.00 passionate tangueros will meet in Palestro Square to experience an enjoyable evening of dance. Approach classes, practice classes and milongas will be offered, led by the teacher Maura Cardone, and dancing in the square. Also on Sunday, at 21.30, in the Prince's Garden will be screened the film “Azur and Asmar”.{:}
