lupocapretti1PRESS RELEASE (6/8/2013)

Wednesday, August 7, a Loano, will continue the review Family-friendly Loano, promoted by the’Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports and curated by the Cooperative I.SO. Theatre.

At ore 9:30 p.m., in the Prince's Garden Summer Arena, Daniele Debernardi of Teatrino dell'Erba Matta will present the comic show for actor and puppets “The Wolf and the Seven Kids.”. Based on the imaginative story by the Brothers Grimm, the staging retains the original idea but adapts it to modern-day reality.

A wolf prowls around the sheepfold where 7 kids are immersed in carrying out their favorite daily activities: some play, some eat, some look in the mirror and some would like to sleep. The small community, however, always lives in expectation that the big bad wolf will someday come to steal and devour everything he finds. The opportunity for the ravenous wolf Pepitos Gonzales presents itself when Mother Goat goes out, as she is invited to Aunt Fiorella's Birthday party. Terror sets in in the fold, but fortunately, one of the 7 baby goats is Sheriff Joe di Caprio who wants to bring some order back to his ranch. The goats’ games, their way of seeing the world is the same as that of children who enjoy the show made with large puppets. The goats are sight-animated puppets, the wolf is mounted on the actor's body, the sheepfold is a set design that is constantly moving and changing.

The theme of encountering “the other” is delicately treated in a comic and poetic key. Posing a final reflection, on what are the “most appropriate tools” nowadays to deal with the fears and opportunities of the inevitable approach with the “stranger.”.

The evening is at FREE ADMISSION.{:}
