{:en}AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE CLASS THE TEAM THE LOANO NAUTICAL CLUB WINS THE OVERALL GOLD MEDAL AND THE SILVER AND BRONZE MEDALS IN THE WOMEN'S STANDINGS.

The tale of Fatty Rossi, coach and sports manager of Circolo Nautico Loanese:

A great day today for the Nautical Circle Loano ! One gold medal, one silver medal e a bronze one the Loanese Circle's haul at the European Championship Equipe.

When Mameli's anthem resounded in the harbor of Gdansk and the Italian flag went up there on the highest flagpole thanks to Andrea Abbruzzese and Tatiana Silvano, the commotion was great and a few tears of joy could be seen on the eyes of the boys but also, I am not ashamed to say, on mine.

Years of work, days and days at sea, in summer and winter, the endless passion of the boys, their talents as sportsmen and sailors, the dedication of an entire Circle, its leaders, the sacrifices of the parents, the help of the City of Loano, the support of Marina of Loano, all repaid by what has been conquered today.

To return to Loano after six days of racing with three Crews all on the podium is a dream come true, it is a feat that has almost never been achieved by any Sailing Club.

Andrew and Tatiana fought for eleven races a fierce and sporting battle with a very strong French Team. A more unique than rare head-to-head in the midst of forty other fierce competitors but conducted to the end with uncommon lucidity, skill, and psychological resilience. And when towards the end of the last trial Andra and Tatiana accomplished their masterpiece in controlling the opponent, the loud and sincere applause of all those who were on the finish line could not cover the liberating scream of joy launched by Ciccio. But Andrea and Tatiana were not left alone in their triumph.

The silver medal of Benedetta Barchi and Silvia Leonelli  and the bronze medal of Alice Secco and Martina Galvan are also two resounding results. Only a strong Spanish Crew managed to beat our two magnificent Crews by a few points, who moreover took a sixth and eighth place overall ahead of dozens and dozens of male and female Crews.

What was written for Andrea and Tatiana applies to them as well, namely dedication, endless passion, sacrifice, a whole set of gifts that brought four very young girls to the roof of Europe.

When the Circle won the silver medal two years ago with Giulia Genesio and Francesca Volpi, now on the Olympic National Team, and last year's women's gold medalist with Marta Richero and Allegra Primavera It already felt as if we had touched the sky with our finger. Today we touched the sky with the whole Circle, its Members, its supporters and especially all its boys and girls.

Today's success pushes us to work more and more for young people to help them accomplish what Andrea, Tatiana, Benedetta, Silvia, Alice, and Martina have accomplished today.

Thank you for what you have accomplished also because your example will help so many other young people like you.
