Sunday, August 4, a Loano, the film festival will kick off. “Cardboard Stories, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and organized by the I.So THeatre with the artistic direction of Paul Borio.
Opening the event dedicated to animated films from Michel Ocelot will be the movie “Kiriku and the Witch Karawa.”.
Michel Ocelot is a writer, television author, illustrator and director of animated films. After studying art in France and the United States, he devoted his career to film. He has directed, scripted and produced the drawings for several animated series and short films. His works are characterized by the use of multiple varieties of animation techniques and are inspired by the world of fairy tales. Since his first animated feature film, “Kiriku and the witch Karabà“, an African story that won wide public and critical acclaim, as well as numerous awards, was based on a picture book of the same name published in Italy by Ape Junior in 2002.
The review will continue with the screening of the films “Kiriku and the Wild Animals.” (Aug. 11) and “Azur and Asmar.” (Aug. 18).
