loano_marco_incudineAt 9:30 pm, in the Maccagli Garden Cultural Space on the waterfront, the artist Mario Incudine will rely on the Sicilian language (not without leaving room for Italian as well) to address the audience and tell-in an encounter of light and shadow-stories of our time. The sounds are those blossomed and mixed in the Mediterranean basin, associated with drums and electric guitars that inscribe his musical project in the most contemporary world music.

During the evening the artist will be presented with the Best Record of the Year Award 2012. The award for the best musical production of 2012 was decreed by a prestigious jury of more than sixty music journalists with the following justification, “To the “Italia Talìa” disc” by Mario Incudine because, in addition to reaffirming the Sicilian artist's great talent for set to music storytelling (in this case, in the language of his region), he relaunches his path on memory as a starting point to go, decisively, elsewhere. An original way of reclaiming an identity: an increasingly elusive yet central term, not only in the sphere of “traditional” music. An album that opens new doors wide to those who want to try their hand at a happily impure genre that has to come to terms as much with the present as with the past.”

The artist will be accompanied by Antonio Vasta (accordion, accordion organ and paru bagpipe), Antonio Putzu (woodwinds), Pine Ricosta (bass), Emanuele Rinella (battery), Manfredi Tumminello (electric guitar).
