Entitled “Loano in Love,” the series of initiatives promoted by the City of Loano's Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the city's businesses, in the run-up to Valentine's Day, the holiday of lovers.
The centerpiece of the event will be Rocca Square, where a large glowing heart has been placed to serve as the perfect setting for “love selfies” of lovers and loved ones.
Other selfie-points will be set up in other parts of the historic center and in the “caruggetti orbi,” which will be transformed into the “Caruggetti dell'amore” for the occasion. Thanks to collaboration with merchants, in fact, the alleys within the walls will be decorated with hundreds of little hearts handmade by guests of the “Monsignor Pogliani” Center. Shopkeepers in other parts of the city have also joined the initiative, who have decided to place the little hearts inside the windows of their businesses.

Those who wish to do so can submit their photo to Visit Loano's Facebook page, where (in the days immediately preceding February 14) the social contest will kick off, which will offer interesting prizes. The photos will be posted at the same time on a date that will also be announced via social and, as always, the one that gets the most interactions will be judged the winner. More information will be posted soon on Visit Loano's Facebook page.

“The contest,” explain Loano Mayor Luca Lettieri and Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports Enrica Rocca, "is not reserved exclusively for couples in love, but is open to anyone who is experiencing a love affair: with a friend or girlfriend, for example, or even toward a pet. Valentine's Day, in fact, is the holiday of lovers and those who love each other, and we want to celebrate them properly.".
Finally, the city's restaurants have prepared specific menus full of many delicacies to give couples not only a moment of romance and intimacy but also a special pampering for their palates. In addition, store windows will be “dressed up” themed with all the symbols of the lovers' holiday.
“We want to thank the merchants, categories and guests of ‘Monsignor Pogliani’ for working with our administration to organize this event. As always, synergies and collaborations are the key element for the success of any project. Happy Lovers” Day to all!".
