A brochure built with the photographic and creative contributions of residents and tourists and a clip to tell about the city in the “sweetest season of the year.” These are the two projects launched by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano in preparation for the start of the spring season.

In previous years, the administration of Mayor Luigi Pignocca used to “greet” the arrival of spring with a rich series of events. The continuing health emergency made it impossible to plan with certainty any kind of event in attendance. Therefore, as was the case for Christmas, the tourism department and its office chose to turn the usual brochure containing the calendar of events into something else: a publication that would tell the story of the area.

“To do this,‘ adds Mayor Pignocca, ’we chose to involve our fellow citizens and guests, whom we asked to send us their most beautiful Loano photos. Not only that: we also asked them to come up with a slogan, which takes its cue from that motto, ‘We are Loano,’ which characterized the last two communication campaigns launched in the run-up to summer and in the run-up to Christmas. This will enable us to bring to life a ”grassroots narrative' of our area and the many unique features that make it so special.".

Rounding out the project, which the administration has carried out together with Castigamatti Creative Farm, will be the new video made again this time by photographer and creative Alessandro Gimelli, already the author of the “post-lockdown restart” video spread all over social media early last summer.

“Inspired by a famous commercial from the mid-1990s of the last century,’ explains deputy mayor and councillor for tourism, culture and sports Remo Zaccaria, ‘Alessandro Gimelli wanted to show the most characteristic and picturesque corners of our city in a completely new guise, namely, as if they were meadows and fields in bloom and benevolently ’invaded” by beautiful butterflies. An unprecedented but very evocative view told in its usual original style that, we are sure, will appeal greatly to those who live in Loano and to those who habitually visit it for the vacations. Both the brochure and the video will be shared on social channels of the City of Loano (indeed, we invite our fellow citizens to do the same) with the aim of making our city and its beauties more and more known even outside Liguria.".
