{:en}Bardino Vecchio's “Circus of Life” float won the Palio dei Comuni (Palio of Municipalities) of the 29th edition of CarnevaLöa, the grand carnival event organized by the Old Loano Association with the contribution of the Loano Municipality's Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports.
The second parade of floats was held this afternoon, featuring floats from the coastal and inland municipalities that have joined the event: Il mondo al contrario (Ceriale), Dragonball (Borghetto Santo Spirito), Il circo della vita (Bardino Vecchio, winner of the Palio dei Comuni 2019 with Lasciaateci lavorare... ma non troppo) and Cannavacciuolo al Conad (Toirano).
Along with them were the “representative” floats of the Loano villages: Maleficent (A Maina de Loa), The Flintstones (Prigliani), Aladdin (Meceti), Neptune (Borgo di Dentro), Coco (Matetti Burdeluzi dei Mazzocchi, winners of the Palio dei Borghi last week), The Addams Family (Piazza Rocca G.S. Team). There was also the Clock Tower and Palazzo Doria float with Loanese masks (U Beciancin, Captain Fracassa, Puè Pepin and Princess Doria of the Castle) and the “Beccian Car,” the “rigadera” or watering can-shaped car, i.e., the symbol of Beciancin (both floats are by the Old Loano Association).
Behind Bardino Vecchio, winner for the fourth time in a row, was “Il mondo al contrario” of Ceriale and in third place Dragonball of Borghetto Santo Spirito.
Super guests of the day were Captain Windy, aka Fabrizio Fontana, and (straight from Sanremo) Alex Perry. The Ventimiglia Philharmonic participated. The Palio dei Comuni was also hosted by Stefania Vivioli.{:}
