{:en}Gastone Pietrucci and La Macina, fresh winners of the Loano Lifetime Achievement Award, will celebrate their 50th anniversary at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome on September 14, on the stage of Sala Petrassi. This special, unique event will feature Rossana Casale, Lucilla Galeazzi, Giovanna Marini, and Sara Modigliani and will be preceded by an exhibition of Gastone Pietrucci's collages.

The event is produced by Carta da Musica and La Macina, in partnership with Circolo Gianni Bosio, Blogfoolk, Squilibri editore and Premio Nazionale Città di Loano.

One of the longest-running and most important folk music ensembles in Italy celebrates its 50th anniversary with an extraordinary and unpredictable event, where song mixes with the earth, music with art, roots with wings.

Celebrating La Macina will take the stage of the prestigious Sala Petrassi with some great friends and artists who at many moments in this long history have shared moments of life and art with the ensemble founded and led from the beginning with lucid and visionary madness by Gastone Pietrucci: melancholic and ardent aedo, fire and waters of song. Or as others like to call him: the Pasolini of Italian folk singing. Researcher and philosopher, performer and author. An artist who in his long career has worked for over 50 years collecting and cataloging the ancient voices, songs and tales of le Marche tutte. Thus drawing a map of memory where he places the findings. To then investigate their deep meaning, the soul and transfer it into song, that is, the specific linguistic vehicle through which that soul expresses itself and lives the story.

In the concert in Sala Petrassi these 50 years will be relived over the course of one evening, crossing emotions and stories, stories and songs, memories and discoveries. To once again recompose the extraordinary musical and cultural heritage that La Macina preserves and relaunches into the future.

Preceding this great and unique evening is the anthological exhibition of collages by Gastone Pietrucci, leader and founder of La Macina. Sublime art or an exercise in style?
It is the lost words that he searches for, so similar to the lost images, those of his collages; a labyrinth within another labyrinth, behind the singer, the aedo and the songwriter or singer himself. He takes up words through things and their mirrored and mirrored images and gives them, in a sense, a new name in the form of allegories, metaphors, anagrams, riddles, arcana, strange tarot cards. Figures of collages that latch on as if to a higher, supernatural supersignificance, but also underlying, succumbing, perturbing, enduring. In fact, it has been more than 50 years that Gastone has been making collages, pretty much like songs.

In the exhibition we will see a small selection of them, mostly devoted to the history of art reviewed by his visionary, tender, melancholy, ardent and passionate gaze.

Fifty years of activity, the publication of no less than eighteen LPs and the volume Cultura Popolare Marchigiana, surely the most extensive and organic collection of folk songs and traditions boasting in the Marche, make the La Macina Research and Folk Singing Group the only authoritative spokesman for what is the very rich heritage of Marche's oral tradition and culture.

What is the group La Macina? An ethnomusicological investigation collective that holds to its rigor in both the sense of research and performance. Those who attend their concerts will understand for themselves the discourse of La Macina: by what they say while singing, by the way they sing it, by the extreme expressiveness of the Group, which has managed to draw sap from the deepest roots of our land, making their own the modalities and rituals of the peasant civilization, which they certainly divulge with exemplary respect and love. La Macina, by the way, managed to bring into being in 1988, the Popular Traditions Center, operating not only as a conservation structure, but above all as an agent for the promotion and study of popular music and traditions

La Macina is composed of Gastone Pietrucci on vocals; Adriano Taborro on guitar, mandolin, violin and vocals (musical director); Marco Gigli on guitar, vocals; Roberto Picchio on accordion, vocals; Riccardo Andrenacci on drums, percussion; and Giorgio Cellinese on coordination.
