{:en}Circus activities and theatrical acting: these are the two areas in which the upcoming workshops organized by the Yepp Group of Loano under the sponsorship of the City Council's Department of Social and Youth Policies will be developed.
Throughout the month of April, the afternoon activities of Loano's “Invisible Cities” youth center will move from Kursaal Palace to Don Leone Grossi Park, where tightrope walker Simone Peretti of Circo Incerto will give an interesting workshop on balancing, juggling techniques and walking on stilts.
The activities will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on April 13, 20, 27 and May 4 and are aimed at 12- to 18-year-olds, who will thus be able to learn circus techniques with various tools including handkerchiefs, balls, saucers and stilts. At the end of the workshops, the “pupils” will give a touring performance as part of a major event scheduled for May 6 at Loano.
“This workshop,‘ explain Loano mayor Luigi Pignocca and councillor with responsibility for social and youth policies Luca Lettieri, ’represents a response to two important needs on which our administration has been working for some time: on the one hand, guaranteeing families and young people moments of aggregation and socialization through play and recreational activities; on the other, garrisoning public areas (especially Don Leone Grossi Park). The presence of Yepp Loano youths will not only serve to animate a space frequented by families and children, but will also allow for a useful ”garrison' capable of ensuring their tranquility and safety.".
At the same time, Loano's Yepp group has organized a “live role-playing” workshop in which participants, taking cues from theatrical improvisation techniques, will stage an interactive, guided investigation. The atmosphere will be that of vintage Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes detective stories. The workshop is for young people ages 14 to 25 and will be held in the Loano Civic Library from 7 p.m. on April 18, May 2 and May 9.{:}
