{:en}Transforming the city into a real set for national and international film and TV productions and promoting the image of Loano in film and TV festivals and fairs in Italy and abroad. These are the goals of the collaboration that the City of Loano has decided to establish with the Genoa Liguria Film Commission Foundation.
Genova Liguria Film Commission is a nonprofit foundation created by regional law and deals with the promotion of Liguria as a destination for film, television, advertising, and documentary productions. This is with the aim of giving visibility and thus tourist appeal to the area and also to develop a local audiovisual industry.
“Loano is splendid in so many ways,‘ says Loano Mayor Luigi Pignocca, ’It has a historic center full of treasures and historical, artistic and architectural beauties; it has an ideal sea and climate at any time of the year; it has a splendid hinterland. In short, our city and our territory have all the credentials to be the sets of movies and TV shows. A concrete example of this is 'Rosy Abate,' the drama produced by TaoDue Film and largely filmed right in Loano (Pictured is a view of Loano that appeared in the TV show). Episodes set in our city were aired on Channel 5 just a few months ago. Each episode was watched by millions of viewers and constituted an exceptional showcase for Loano, helping to introduce its beauty to a wide audience. The collaboration with Genoa Liguria Film Commission wants to continue on this path.”.
“Given the mission of Genoa Liguria Film Commission,‘ adds Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports Remo Zaccaria, ’our administration has decided to activate a ”temporary collaboration' aimed at obtaining support and collaboration for the promotion of the city of Loano as a location for film and television productions as well as for training projects by audiovisual professionals (such as directors, actors and screenwriters) who also operate temporarily in Liguria. This will allow us to make our city known in the main circuits of the sector and to inaugurate a new form of promotion of our territory that, we are sure, will bring important benefits to the entire local economic-tourist fabric.".
“In this regard,’ adds Film Commission President Cristina Bolla, ”from May 8 to 18 the Genoa Liguria Film Commission will be present at the Italian Pavilion of the Cannes Film Festival. On this occasion there will be an event to present the locations of GLFC including the locations of Loano.".
According to the collaboration agreement, Loano will participate in film and audiovisual industry festivals and events in Italy and abroad with differentiated target levels for each territory; in addition, a link to the City of Loano's institutional website will be placed on the Genoa Liguria Film Commission web portal. All this with the aim of promoting the city's image from the tourism point of view.{:}
