{:en}From March 9 to 14, the final meeting of the European PPP (People Places Partnership) project promoted by Yepp Europe, Yepp Italy association, NGO Cisv and funded by the European Commission's Erasmus+ program (Key Action 2 - Strategic Partnerships) will take place in Albenga.
The project was created with the aim of spreading the Yepp method in Europe as a tool to promote active citizenship among young people and to support the birth and development of Community Hubs - youth centers open to the community. It involved 7 European countries for two years (Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Greece, Romania, Spain) and as far as Italy is concerned, it involved the local Yepp groups of Loano, Albenga, and Bivongi (Reggio Calabria).
The meeting, organized under the patronage of the youth policy departments of the City of Albenga and Loano and the collaboration of Yepp Albenga and Yepp Loano, will be attended by 30 young people and European practitioners with the aim of sharing the results of the project. Participants will analyze the impact the process initiated has had on individual participants, the local community, at the national and European levels. Good practices that have emerged from the experience will be highlighted, and tools for making the project results available will be agreed upon. The meeting also aims to bring those present into dialogue about future strategies for collaboration.
On Monday, March 12, at Loano, as part of the exchange program, the 30 European youth and youth workers participating in the meeting will meet with Loano Mayor Luigi Pignocca and Vice Mayor Luca Lettieri to learn about the City of Loano's Youth Policy activities. Youth from the Yepp Loano Association will also be present to tell about the activities planned for 2018.
On Tuesday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m., the public meeting on “Policy Recommendations and Shared Strategies: how best to support local youth initiative?” will be held again in Albenga in the multipurpose room of the municipal police headquarters (Via Bologna 1).”
Starting from Yepp's well-established experience, a reflection will be proposed on the role of public administration, the activation of young people, and the building of local networks and partnerships, involving in a discussion of ideas and practices the various stakeholders: politicians, public managers, foundation managers, educators, teachers and school leaders, associations, parishes, and young people. Mayors and aldermen from municipalities in the Albenga, Loano, and Finale areas have been invited to the roundtable. In attendance will be Angelika Krüger (International Academy of the Free University of Berlin (Ina - Berlin), who theorized and initiated the experimentation of the Yepp method. Opening the proceedings will be Albenga Mayor Giorgio Cangiano and youth policy councilor Camilla Vio.{:}
