{:en}Another record-breaking edition of the CarnevaLöa, the great event organized by the Old Loano Association with the contribution of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Loano, ended yesterday in Loano.
Thousands of people chose to spend an afternoon of fun on the Loano waterfront, which hosted the Palio dei Comuni (Palio of Municipalities) and the second parade of floats made by the papier-mâché masters of the Loano Borghi (Matetti Burdelluzi, Borgo di Dentro, Meceti, Maina de Loa, Prigliani), Vecchia Loano and Rossello schools, as well as those of the municipalities that joined (Bardino Vecchio, Borghetto Santo Spirito, Varazze, Ceriale and Ortovero).
A success that, as remarked by Loano Mayor Luigi Pignocca and Tourism, Culture and Sports Councillor Remo Zaccaria, would not have been possible without the efforts of the many people who worked behind the scenes to ensure the success of the event and especially the safety of the participants.
“On behalf of the entire municipal administration,” say Pignocca and Zaccaria, "we extend a huge thank you to the councilor delegated to civil protection Luana Isella, to the commander of the municipal police Gianluigi Soro and all the officers, to managers Aldo Caballini, Luigi Vallarino and Marta Gargiulo, to Ced manager Emanuele Campisi, to the coordinator of the inter-municipal civil protection group Antonio Mattiauda and to the workers on duty yesterday. Thanks to the Amateur Radio Association, the Red Cross, the Boissano-Toirano-Loano Intermunicipal Civil Defense Group, and the Vecchia Loano volunteers. We would like to thank the Alpine Group, the National Carabinieri Association and the law enforcement agencies, municipal police and carabinieri, for their helpfulness. Also the many skilled artisans who built and animated the floats. And thanks also to the operators of the Stirano Company, whose work managed to return a perfectly cleaned Loano to us after the festival.".
Add Pignocca and Zaccaria: “The great success with the public that our events regularly obtain is not only the result of the excellent work done by the offices and the various entities that contribute to the organization, but it is also and above all the result of the efforts made by the associations, groups and volunteers who work in our area and who make up the most important part of the Loano community. To them goes, today as always, the deepest thanks of the municipality we represent.”{:}
