Film notes:

The famous fairy tale returns to the big screen. Villeneuve is a small village nestled in the French province, where life flows slowly and monotonously. Belle, the daughter of Maurice, an eccentric local artist, dreams of a different life for herself and counts down the days until a phantom adventure. One day, after being attacked by a pack of wolves on the market road, Maurice finds refuge in a ruined castle, not knowing that the dark and mysterious place is actually the home of a fearsome Beast. The master of the castle, in a rage over the intrusion, locks the unfortunate man in an icy tower, and Belle, worried, sets out to find him. The only way to free her father is to take his place: the girl ends up a forced guest of that cursed place, where the inhabitants have the appearance of talking furniture objects and their master is a rude and heartless monster. But she, who is of strong and courageous temperament, does not bend to the orders she is given and misses no opportunity to stand up for herself. It is only after a misadventure in the woods and a timely rescue that the initial distrust dissolves and Belle glimpses, beneath the thick fur and animal appearance, the kinder and more generous side of the Beast, discovers that she shares with him a passion for books, and a tender friendship is born between the two. The candelabra Lumiere, the clock Tockins, the teapot Mrs. Brick and all the others, begin to hope that Belle is really the one, the girl who with the strength of her love will be able to break the spell.
