Sunday, July 23, a Loano, folk dances will be the stars of the review “Dreams Festival”, promoted by the’Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano and edited by Event Size, under the artistic direction of Ivan Fabio Perna.

At 21.30, in the summer arena Prince's Garden, Simone Campa and The Gecko's Paranza will be the performers of the concert-show of traditional Southern Italian music, songs and dances.

The performance, charged with vital energy, sees the intertwining of musicians, singers and dancers who will create a true musical feast.

Accompanied by original folk instruments, the group's musicians will lead the audience to indulge in the pleasant euphoria of the fast-paced rhythms of the most beautiful traditional tarantellas, alternating with original songs, in a fascinating journey through Puglia, Basilicata, Campania, Calabria and Sicily.

The program will range from the whirling and wild pizzica pizzica Salentine, ancient therapeutic dance used to treat the “tarantati,” to the tammurriate Vesuvius, from the sonu a ballo aspromontano to the numerous tarantellas of Calabria, from the tarantellas of Gargano, Montemarano, and Irpinia to the sounds of Pollino and Lucania.

The instruments used by the musicians on stage are those of the tradition: accordion and diatonic accordions, violin, mandolin, mandola, classical guitars, battenti guitars and fullback (smaller model of a beating guitar), friscaletti e whistles namely traditional simple and double reed flutes, Calabrian lyre, paru and key bagpipes, ciaramelle and pipite, frame drums, marranzani, putipù, scetavajasse, triccaballacche.
