After the recognition of <strong>\u201cEuropean Town of Sport 2010,<\/strong> Now comes recognition in the cultural sphere from the circuit of the <strong>Center for Books and Reading<\/strong> (Cepell) that promotes and enhances those municipalities committed to continuously carrying out public policies for the promotion of reading in their areas.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative promoted by the <strong>Ministry of Culture and Tourism<\/strong>, in agreement with the\u2019<strong>ANCI <\/strong>- <strong>National Association of Italian Municipalities<\/strong>, aims to recognize and support socio-cultural growth through the dissemination of reading as a recognized and shared value that can positively influence the quality of individual and collective life.<\/p>\n<p>Of <strong>520 Municipalities<\/strong> who participated in the call only <strong>366<\/strong> Have demonstrated that they meet the requirements. At <strong>Liguria<\/strong>, <strong>Loano<\/strong> achieved recognition along with <strong>Deer<\/strong> e<strong> Genoa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted with this important new certificate that allows us to join Cepell's \u201cThe Cities of the Book\u201d network, which brings together Italy's leading literary events and excellences in the field of reading promotion,\" say Mayor <strong>Luigi Pignocca<\/strong> and the Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports. <strong>Remo Zaccaria<\/strong> - This recognition has come thanks to the cultural initiatives promoted in the area. Distinctive element is the network created between the municipality, local associations and bookstores, which testifies to the collective interest of our community on this issue and allows the development of a varied program of initiatives: Culture Tuesdays (July and August) and Books under the Tree (December and January), Flying Disks... close encounters with sounds, music and words (April and May), reviews promoted by bookstores, book presentations sponsored by UNITRE Loano and Proloco.
