{"id":8662,"date":"2017-01-30T10:29:25","date_gmt":"2017-01-30T09:29:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/?p=8662"},"modified":"2017-01-30T10:29:25","modified_gmt":"2017-01-30T09:29:25","slug":"brown-zones-historical-political-seminar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/en\/8662\/news\/zone-brune-seminario-storico-politico\/","title":{"rendered":"BROWN ZONES - HISTORICAL-POLITICAL SEMINAR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE (30\/01\/2017)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, February 1, <\/strong>a <strong>Loano<\/strong>, the second round of the seminar series \u201c<strong>Brown Zones - social-nationalisms and the crisis of democracy<\/strong>\u201d, organized by the\u2019<strong>A.N.P.I of Loano <\/strong>in collaboration with <strong>the Stella del Carmo Association<\/strong>, under the auspices of the <strong>Municipality of Loano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The public meeting of character <strong>historical and political<\/strong>, which will kick off at <strong>9 p.m. <\/strong>at <strong>Civic Library<\/strong>, will be dedicated to the theme \u201c<strong>War zones<\/strong>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. <strong>John Zanelli<\/strong> will reconstruct social-nationalism's vocation for war with a focus on the political climate on the eve of the two world wars. The talk by Prof. <strong>Luigi Vassallo<\/strong> will focus on the question of the legitimacy of war in democracies. It will ask whether it is right to export democracy by force.<\/p>\n<p>The evening will include the introduction of topics by professors <strong>Zanelli<\/strong> e <strong>Vassallo<\/strong> and then the interventions of the participants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main theme of the seminar series will be the <strong>social-nationalism<\/strong>, or that political tendency to associate the exaltation of the nation with the social question. - The organizers explain -Through reflection on the past, with particular attention to the first decades of the 20th century, an attempt will be made to define a historical-political category for understanding the present. The goal of the initiative is to stimulate the formation of a critical consciousness through participatory discussion.
