Loano<\/strong> returns to host the largest carnival in Liguria. The floats of the CarnevaL\u00f6a<\/strong> will parade again in the beautiful waterfront setting of Loano.<\/p>\n

Arrived at the 26th edition<\/strong>, the Loano carnival, organized by the\u2019Old Loano Association <\/strong>with contributions from the\u2019Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano<\/strong>, will offer a varied program of events: c<\/strong>ortees of masks, parades of floats and street parties for children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarnevaL\u00f6a represents one of the most anticipated events of the Loano winter. - Say the mayor Luigi Pignocca<\/strong> and the Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports. Remo Zaccaria<\/strong> - There are few municipalities that can count on the industriousness and creativity of so many volunteers. Carneval\u00f6a is in fact the result of the commitment of many people who believe in the value of doing and being together. The Old Loano Association has been able to recover the loanese carnival tradition by reviving it with renewed enthusiasm and creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt's already three months,\" says Santino Puleo<\/strong> president of the Old Loano Association -that we are working on the realization of the \u201cCarnevaL\u00f6a. This year we have reached the 26th edition and the many volunteers are proud to continue this historic and traditional event that has more than one hundred years of history at Loano. We invite everyone who has a desire to do so to help set up the floats or organize masked groups to make the parades even more beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

To inaugurate the Carneval\u00f6a<\/strong>, will be the 29<\/strong> January<\/strong>, the ceremony of handing over the keys to the city <\/strong>To the three loanese masks: Pu\u00e8 Pepin<\/strong> King of Carnival, U Beciancin<\/strong> official mask of the CarnevaL\u00f6a and Captain Fracassa<\/strong>, mask of the commedia dell'arte.<\/p>\n

After the handover of the keys, the Grand Parade of Masks<\/strong> through the city streets (waterfront and old town) in which numerous carnival delegations from Liguria<\/strong>, Piedmont<\/strong>, Lombardy<\/strong>, Emilia Romagna<\/strong>, Latium <\/strong>e Tuscany<\/strong>. The meeting and the start of the parade will be in Italy Square<\/strong>, starting with the 3 p.m.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The key handover ceremony will be attended by the president of the Ligurian Council of Associations for Culture, Arts, Traditions and Environmental Defense Franco Salvadori<\/strong> and the chairman of the National Masks Committee Maurizio Trapelli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the event, the new Ligurian masks that will join the National Masks Committee and the National Register of Italian Masks<\/strong> In the presence of the contact person for Liguria of the Committee. Santino Puleo<\/strong>, president of the Old Loano Association.<\/p>\n

I 13<\/strong> carts<\/strong> made by carnival artisans will parade down Corso Roma (waterfront) on the February 26 <\/strong>and the March 5<\/strong>, accompanied by marching bands, majorettes and walking masked groups.<\/p>\n

Sunday, February 26<\/strong> as part of the parade will take place the Village Palio<\/strong>, a carnival competition involving floats representing the villages of Loano.
