{"id":8432,"date":"2016-12-22T12:44:51","date_gmt":"2016-12-22T11:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/?p=8432"},"modified":"2016-12-22T12:44:51","modified_gmt":"2016-12-22T11:44:51","slug":"christmas-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/en\/8432\/news\/concerto-di-natale\/","title":{"rendered":"CHRISTMAS CONCERT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE (12\/22\/2016)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, December 23<\/strong>, a <strong>Loano<\/strong>, a new event of the program \u201c<strong>Christmas enchantments<\/strong>\u201d, sponsored by the\u2019<strong>Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>9 p.m.<\/strong>, in the <strong>Church of the Sisters of the Visitation<\/strong> (Corso Europa) on <strong>Polyphonic Choir and the City of Loano Children's Voice Choir <\/strong>will perform the traditional <strong>\u201cChristmas Concert\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The evening's program will include compositions from the sacred repertoire of Mozart, Durante and Beethoven as well as classical pieces from the Christmas tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Opening the concert, conducted by the <strong>Master Mattia Pelosi<\/strong>, will be the \u201c<strong>Mass<\/strong>\u201d by Mozart. This will be followed by the \u201c<strong>Magnificat<\/strong>\u201d by Francesco Durante and the Christmas carol \u201c<strong>Adeste fideles<\/strong>. The Loano polyphonic choir will then perform the \u2019<strong>Hymn to the Creator<\/strong>\u201d and the \u2019<strong>Ode to the Night<\/strong>\u201d by L.V. Beethoven. The evening will continue with the performance of some famous Christmas carols: \u201c<strong>Entre le beuf<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>Adorabunt nationes<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>Astro del ciel<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>Joy to the<\/strong> <strong>world<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>Jingle bells<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The concert will close with a performance of the Christian Thanksgiving hymn \u201c<strong>Te Deum Laudamus<\/strong>\u201d. The choir will be accompanied by organist <strong>William Vivino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>City of Loano Polyphonic Choir<\/strong>, formed in 1998, is composed of more than 20 vocal elements.  The repertoire that characterizes the Lovran formation is that of Baroque polyphony.
