{"id":7675,"date":"2016-07-27T11:33:31","date_gmt":"2016-07-27T09:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/?p=7675"},"modified":"2016-07-27T11:33:31","modified_gmt":"2016-07-27T09:33:31","slug":"torches-in-the-night-occitan-dances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/en\/7675\/news\/fiaccole-nella-notte-balli-occitani\/","title":{"rendered":"TORCHES IN THE NIGHT AND OCCITAN DANCING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE (7\/27\/2016)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, July 28<\/strong>, a<strong> Loano<\/strong>, the calendar of summer events promoted by the\u2019<strong>Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports<\/strong> <strong>of the City of Loano<\/strong>, offers an evening of Occitan dancing, torchlight illumination of the sea, and a guided listening experience of the concert by <strong>City of Loano Polyphonic Choir, summer 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At <strong>9 p.m.<\/strong>, in <strong>Fortress Square<\/strong>, l\u2019<strong>Bala Association on the shore of u ma <\/strong>will host an evening of Occitan dancing. Enthusiasts will gather to dance the dances of the Piedmont valleys and southern France, accompanied by music from the Arbut group.<\/p>\n<p>Always<strong> Thursday evening <\/strong>, the initiative will be held <strong>Torches in the night<\/strong>, organized by the <strong>S.I.B. of Loano<\/strong> (Italian Bathing Union).<\/p>\n<p>The event at sea will kick off at <strong>8:45 p.m.<\/strong>, on the beach of the <strong>Medusa Baths<\/strong>, rescue simulations using various techniques.<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>21.30<\/strong>, the <strong>sea will light up<\/strong>. Lifeguards on rescue boats will light torches that will illuminate the sea. This symbolic gesture is intended to bid farewell to tourists and emphasize the importance of \u201csafety at sea\u201d for Loano's beach resorts. The evening will continue with <strong>Dj-Set<\/strong> and a tasty<strong> barbecue<\/strong> on the beach. As part of the initiative, a photography exhibition curated by <strong>Alexander Gimelli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally,  the <strong>City of Loano Polyphonic Choir<\/strong>, to the <strong>9 p.m.<\/strong>, in the <strong>Council Chamber of Palazzo Doria<\/strong> will present the initiative \u201c<strong>Listening Guide<\/strong>\u201d from the 2016 summer concert.
