{"id":7162,"date":"2016-05-20T10:59:48","date_gmt":"2016-05-20T08:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/?p=7162"},"modified":"2016-05-20T10:59:48","modified_gmt":"2016-05-20T08:59:48","slug":"ligurian-pie-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visitloano.it\/en\/7162\/news\/festa-della-torta-ligure\/","title":{"rendered":"LIGURIAN PIE FESTIVAL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE (20\/05\/2016)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>At Loano, the weekend <\/strong>will be dedicated to taste. <strong>Saturday 21 and Sunday 22<\/strong> <strong>May<\/strong> will take place the <strong>Ligurian Cake Festival<\/strong>, an appointment dedicated to one of the typical dishes of local Ligurian cuisine.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, organized by the\u2019<strong>Old Loano Association <\/strong>under the auspices of the\u2019<strong>Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the City of Loano<\/strong>, proposes for two days on the <strong>waterfront<\/strong>, near the Sea Workers' Cottage, the <strong>tasting of \u201cligurian cake\u201d<\/strong>, present with several recipes that enhance local products.<\/p>\n<p>The most famous is the <strong>Pasqualina pie\u201c<\/strong> (la verzina), which  beautifully combines olive oil, Swiss chard, eggs, and cheese. You can also enjoy zucchini cake (from Albenga), artichoke cake (from Albenga), pumpkin cake, Swiss chard cake, and sardenaira.\u00a0 The tasting menu will be completed by peach tart, all accompanied by typical wines: Pigato and Vermentino. The stands will be open from <strong>12 noon<\/strong> until the <strong>20.00<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The program will be enriched by two <strong>musical appointments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday 21<\/strong> at <strong>4 p.m.<\/strong>, in <strong>Maccagli Garden<\/strong>\u00a0 (seafront) the food festival will be enlivened by a concert by the folk group <strong>\u201cU Gunbu <\/strong><strong>de L\u00f6a Verzi\u201d<\/strong>. The folk group will present <strong>Ligurian dialect pieces<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cA Noscia F\u00f6a\u201d, \u201cFuxe de Zena\u201d, \u201cMa se ghe pensu\u201d, \u201cO Lidin o lidena\u201d, O Trallallero\u201d, \u201cQuarto a-o ma\u201d, \u201cTrilli genovesi\u201d, \u201cU campanin\u201d, \u201cVoggiu Savei\u201d,- together with some of the best known <strong>chants <\/strong><strong>of tradition<\/strong><strong> of the other Italian regions<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cAmici miei,\u201d \u201cEulalia Torricelli,\u201d \u201cL\u2019uva Fogarina,\u201d \u201cLa Spagnola,\u201d \u201cO mia bela Madunina,\u201d \u201cPiemontesina,\u201d \u201cReginella Campagnola,\u201d \u201cVecchio scarpone.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday 22<\/strong>, always at <strong>16.00<\/strong>, in <strong>Garden<\/strong> <strong>Maccagli<\/strong>, the young talents of the\u2019<strong>MJD Music Academy <\/strong>directed by Teo Chirico, who will present a repertoire of songs taken from Italian and foreign hits.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PRESS RELEASE (May 20, 2016) At Loano, the weekend will be dedicated to taste.
